Mazda DRL Installation (Mazda CX3)

Thanks for your video. I have a 2018 CX-3 that I have just installed a forward facing camera mounted on the circular disk cover of the bumper to help with front cross traffic. With this video, I have a good idea where to route the wires coming from the camera . BTW, excellent project in terms of aesthetics and functionality. This will be my next project. You should solder the wire splices as electrical tape will allow moisture in and become brittle over time. Heat shrink tubing will keep moisture out.

In which fuse did you connect the wire that goes to the fuse box?

Nice video. I just need to replace a cracked insert ("hole cover") over where the fog lamp would be, but my CX-3 doesn't have fog lamps. The dealer wants to charge $75 for the 10 cent part and one hour to install it for another $210, so I will be close to $300. I can buy the plastic "hole cover" for $55 online. Looking at your video, since there are no wires to deal with, can I just pop the cracked hole cover out and pop the new one in? Thanks.

Yeah, the only thing different will be the wiring. I'm not sure if those have screws as well for the blank piece but if they do just follow the same procedure. Be prepared to have an angle screw driver, nub size or ratchet to get on the passenger side. The washer fluid give it a tight space. But if you want you can also go through the wheel well and remove the plastic holder to get access. Kinda have to experiment there but could be done. Thank you for your great installation video! I am a cx3 owner as well and I want to install DRL but I have ZERO knowledge on electrical work so I kinda find it difficult and complicated even after watching video. May I ask where you connected each wires(red, black, green and yellow) and what these wires are for.

Watching the video, i could know that the yellow is for turn signals. Am I right? What are others for?

Thanks for watching always happy to help the yellow wire is for the turn signals so you are correct, but you have to remember that wire connect to the passenger turn signal. The green wire goes into the driver side turn signals. If you don't connect them they will always stay white. For the red/black and white those are pre connected so they just plug in together to the box. I already has the connector there so that one is easy. The power is the red wire, you can get a fuse connector and solder or butt clamp that together. The Fuse connects to the radio on the fuse box. The black wire is the ground so you can find a metal surface or even connect that to the negative battery. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions. You already tried to connect them? The Radio shouldn't go on without the car started which enables the LED. If that's the case you can tap into another source, there are accessories lights which I had them setup before. But I found that if they do come loose you do lose the instrument panel which was pretty scary. Not sure why it would be on for you, could be faulty LEDs or maybe different setup on the car.

You can just zip tie them on the right side of the fog light there was some over hand that I just put it there. It should stay dry and won't have any issues there. Also, please subscribe if you haven't. Thanks!
