This car has gotten much too expensive (in Germany at least). It costs 3/4 of a Z4 now, which may not be a better roadster but certainly a better overall car. It's a shame, this car truly has no peers. Which does not mean, however, it is worth evey price.

The price hike at the start of 2020 in Germany was enormous. From 22k€ in 2019 to 28k€ in 2020, to 30k€ now starting price. I was so lucky to have bought mine in early 2019 for 24k€ with one package higher than complete stock. Unimagineable I couldn't have gotten it just a year later. 2 entire packages were removed that year, including mine! The retaliation is missing (unfortunately?), according to my local dealer. From what I see on the road, it's mostly senior citizens, with a few guys in their 30s here and there, driving the ND, so I see why.

@@derhenri2002 Lucky you! Not wanting to finance a car (without being able to pay for it outright) I decided against purchasing one back then, only to now have to pay thousands and thousands extra for useless premium features in a lightweight sportscar. Then again, the GR 86 coming to the German market was announced yesterday - so there may be alternatives again.

Amazed how these are still selling at similar numbers to the original, fair play mazda I'll be buying one when they're a bit more used 😁

Or you can do your part to help keep these manufacturers make these relatively more atteinable sportscars in the future by buying them new. Not used.

@@smilepermile8165 unfortunately not financially viable as I'd be tracking it regularly and it'd depreciate very hard, but if I'm ever in the position to have one as a daily driver and a track toy or two aswell I probably will buy one new.

Nice video! For all of us not in the UK or the US, would be great to also show speed in kmh not just mph. In Australia we have been using kmh and full metric for over 40 years, so always frustrating to see mph, without the corresponding conversion. Very few ‘tubers’ bother to offer both sets of stats.

If... Mazda are serious about this car being a "sports car" as they continually tell us all it is .... and put in say some 2.5L 4 Cylinder Turbo engine, I have absolutely NO idea where in the world Mazda could source such an engine.................THEN it would be a Sports Car with proper Sports Car performance, and then we would ALL be queuing up to add one to our garages!!!!! But what the HELL do I know...Mazda know better than us it seems, continually giving us an extra kilowatt here, an extra kilowatt there and an extra 2Nm with each new model, essentially continually selling us a "glorified Hairdressers little economical shopping daily car". My 2 cents guys. I'm not making container ship loads of cash as Mazda are currently, so Mazda must know more than me.
@kymehayes51283 жыл бұрын
Hey champ, you seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that “sports cars” require big horsepower, or more succinctly, more than the 181hp the ND2 has. This is a car that can be driven ten tenths every day without breaking the law. For those who continue to ramble about “insufficient power” are totally missing the whole philosophy behind the MX-5. It’s with good reason that Mazda has sold over 1 million MX-5’s over 30 years. Maybe they do know a little more than you.
@TheBishop122 жыл бұрын
The Miata internals are NOT forged to handle 200+ so unless you wanna start paying 50k at least, then be happy with the more than accommodating aftermarket. Also the day Mazda Turbos the Miata again will be the death of the Miata. Electronic steering was bad departure enough.
