Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Really helpful I think for a lot of people 👍 Must have taken a while to do all combinations! Your effort is appreciated. I have a 2019 2.0 ND2 with BBR package 1 including manifold and remap (205ps) with a Cobalt rear exhaust. On trackdays it is only 93db and for fun driving it is really great but every other condition I cant stand anymore the drone and booming on the motorway or during decelleration below 2000rpm its so bad. I even added acoustic matting installation inside the boot floor to absorb noise but the improvement was only small. I have ordered this week the BBR Grand Tour rear exhaust which will work with my manifold and hope for much better noise refinement! I hope its not too quiet when installed🤦♂️ always have the option to add midpipe after, still running stock midpipe at the moment 👍

Hello, how's the BBR exhaust? Is it less boomy than the Cobalt exhaust?
@danielharding93609 ай бұрын
Hi @@thomas.nd2 it is very good 👍 I have done over 5k miles since fitting and have no complaints. The noise is for sure much louder than standard but it's perfectly bareable and less drone than the cobalt. I enjoy the car now without finding the exhaust frustrating. Sounds great under load with roof down or up. You can tell its been designed together with the decat manifold. I wish I just bought the grand touring one in the first place. The tubing diameter is larger as well so I felt like there was a good performance gain in mid range after fitting it compared to the cobalt which felt flat. I'm very happy with my setup now and have no plan to change it. (I still have stock midpipe) I had one issue with fitting though, my car has the piano black Mazda bodykit and the tailpipe was too close to the rear diffuser on first fit causing it to touch when shifting gear. I fitted some slightly longer exhaust rubber hangers to the 2 rear most mounts only which dropped the tailpipe about 5mm away and it has been fine ever since amd sits perfect when you look at the rear of the car. If you don't have the bodykit you will be fine.

@@danielharding9360 Thanks a lot man! I appreciate your reply. Might look into one of these instead of the Cobalt one.

Add a quarter-wave resonator tuned to cancel out your specific drone frequency.

Very good comparison video. Thinking about getting the BBR catted manifold + BBR center section + BBR Grand tourer rear silencer. Will it be bearable to drive on the highway or will it be to loud?
@Dennisnoten Жыл бұрын
I currently drive with the stock manifold + BBR Centre section + BBR SS and it's pretty loud - wouldn't want it to be louder for daily driving. Don't know how the combination of BBR Manifold + Centre section + GT Exhaust will sound like, but let me know once you do it!

Great video. For reference (for the in-car segments), did you do the intake soundtube delete?

the supersport exhaust sounds awesome but it will get me pulled over 100%. The GT exhaust and bbr centersection sounds like a good middle ground that I dont get pulled over, can still tolerate the droning on a longer ride but still make it more exiting when pushing

Hi, does the BBR Super Sport have any drone when used with the Stock Centre section? I am trying to decide between the GT or the Super Sport on an otherwise stock ND2. Thanks!
@gouachito Жыл бұрын
I'm selling my Super Sport because of the drone around 2000 rpm and on deceleration

Hello, Excellent video, thank you very much. Did you have the chance to check the sound level (decibels) ?

Thanks! Nope, I didn’t. Will probably try do drive a few stints at Circuit Zolder in the loudest setup though, where there is a 95db limit. Will let you know if it passes.

I'm guessing this is a 2.0 litre car? I'd love to hear how these pipes sound on a 1.5 and if there's any power increase at higher engine speeds.

Yes, it's a 2.0 litre 184.

Yes, there certainly is a difference in power.

Do any of the exhausts have drone?
@Dennisnoten2 жыл бұрын
The Super Sport exhaust has quite a bit of drone. Although louder, in combination with the centre section it seems to be less drony.
