Mazda Mx5 ND steering wheel push start button mod

I bought this push start stop button from carbon miata -www.carbonmiata.com/shop/mazd... .
I thought it was going to be an easy mod since most mods have detailed instructions. Unfortunately this was not the case so i figured i'd make this video to help others that want to install this mod in the future.
I took it slow and showed every step, experienced people can finish this in under 30 minutes, the wiring was the complex part.

Thank you for the tricks. I get the 2024 Model with the modified Wheel. It has 2 Tastfield more where the new start/stop button sits. Maybe there is place enough. We‘ll see it. 😊😊

Hi. I bought the switch for my Abarth 124 spider which is based on the Mazda MX-5. Your video is absolutely helpful due to the really bad description which comes with the switch. When I see your instructions, the cable have to be inserted between the original start/stop button. I can't see the need for de-mounting the emergency button incl. the air vent and the cockpit cover. Could you tell me if this is really needed?

If I'm not mistaken that's for getting to the start button. The new start button harness connects to the back of the old start button. The 124 might be a little different and might not need this step, that I don't know.

where did you get your steering wheel cover from? I've been looking to find one myself :D

You can find them on eBay/Amazon but I had mine custom done at a local upholstery shop

It's not a wheel cover, it was reupholstered

Basically yes. The instructions that I got with my start button kit were incredibly broad, you can fit it to a bus if you wanted too. You can get these from AliExpress

@@matteo.a6225 highly unlikely but there might be some mod like this particular to the BRZ / GT86 on mod sites. I'd try there first
