Out of curiosity, how does the RX7 handle dynamically compared to the S2000? As in on the limit of grip, in transitions, etc on track. I subscribed a while back for your S2000 track videos, when I noticed you are excellent at driving on the limit of grip! Loving the RX7 footage now too

The comparisson you are asking for, needless to say, is one that i always run through my mind. 8+ years with the S2000 daily driving it (and not) make me always use that car for reference. So to answer your questions, they are very much alike on the limit with the RX7 being more forgiving and less sensitive. With the S2000 (at least mine) you had to be very focused, composed and ready to catch the back. The RX7 with the setup it currently has is more on the understeery side of things and its only if the driver wants to introduce oversteer with the power, that the car will do so. But, with the NA response from the S2000, adjusting your line on the limiti was somehow more easy to manage. It would allow for very late corrections even during mid corner which the laggy RX7 seems to struggle with a little bit.

@@kzannos Thank you for taking the time to write the comparison, that makes very much sense. I notice similar with my S2000 feeling very "sensitive" on track compared to other cars, and that is something I really enjoy about it. I'm fascinated by 90's-00's Japanese car engineering and was very curious how those two compare, as I've heard many great things about the RX7 chassis and I'm unsure if I'll ever have the chance to drive one myself. So thanks again, I really do appreciate it!

I have not driven an s2000 but I heard great things about them. Jump into a fd and you will see why they have such a cult following

hauling ass man! wish i could afford a fd as its my dream car. cant wait to see it at the ring next season? maybe a video going over the changes made would be nice

When Corona allows i will be shipping the FD back to Belgium again and for sure will stopping by the Nurburgring for a few fast laps! Maybe in December, if i visit Greece again i can potentially make a rundown of all the changes over the last one year. Not a bad idea, just needs some free time!

@@kzannos allright man, sick! is it really almost as fast as the gt3 rs? or do you reckon the rs could be faster
@kzannos4 жыл бұрын
@@Kortec_Racing Both cars are faster on their videos and i believe that the RX7 will be faster eventually. As is they are very close to each other, in very different ways. But the Mazda is running 3 sizes narrower tire in the back than what it needs (295) and it still needs a little bit stiffer anti roll bars. Lets not foul ourselves. The 3RS has the whole team of Porsche behind it and is specifically built to do is kind of task, ALL DAY LONG.

Great driving and also a great lap time. 1.24sec is tuned Evo 9 (600whp) lap times for most drivers in Serres. BTW I looked at your setup is 13kgr a bit hard for the front axle? Even with the 265 AR1s? Are you running aero on FD?
@kzannos3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Vlasis. If anything the car needs soft and still feels like it has a lot of roll in it. Spring is just a number. It's the vavling on the shock that makes it work or not. And Ohlins has certainly found the sweet spot as your are driving the car and you wouldnt be able to guess the force on the springs if you didnt know. The tires are just semi slicks and the goal for next visit at Serres is to enter high 1.22 times with a small change in the setup of the car. As for the aero, nothing special. Just a rear wing (nothing extreme) so the car can also enter Touristenfahrten at the Nurburgring.

And there is even more to go really. This was a good shakedown, with lots and consistent driving time so we had the opportunity to take lots of data to refine and improve for the future.

Wow!!! I thought it was a racing simulator with I first clicked on the video. Being an fd owner myself, once I heard the sounds and saw your steering inputs I then realized it was the real deal. Man you were ripping and the car looked very well balanced. The power delivery also looked spot on. More videos please

Hey Kostas! =) I have no idea why i never subscribed to your channel, i did now anyways. Glad to see your FD is ripping again! It looks pretty fast on the video, i can only imagine what its like in reality. I hope we finally see each other at the Ring this year. Greetings...

Well, its not like you missed the Top Gear channel exactly :P The FD is ripping again, better than ever and fingers crossed it will arrive at Spa/Ring in 2021 and we can meet and throw a few laps together! :) How is your one really? Is it having any winter treatment?

@@kzannos My FD is as good as ready to hit the track, only some minor maintenance and mapping issues i take care of next month. It started to leak oil now which pisses me kinda off. Have to locate it and then see. But that doesnt stop me from going to the Ring in the beginning of the season. I will probably stay at Lars his place. I will definetly tell you, asap. =) Maybe we can even do some laps at Spa!? That would be awesome!
