Wow! Ray that was so helpful, my wifes key never worked so I looked up youtube and walla found your wise advise to give me as to how to pull this key apart and first check it and clean it softly then put it back in and it worked. I went down to Repco in Auckland New Zealand and bought a 2 pack (battery) for smart key battery just in case my wifes doesn't keep working. Hey keep smiling and thanks for the video!!!

I have a 2006 Mazda rx8 Shinka edition and it’s has the smart key but no fob, can I replace this with a switch blade key?

+Ed V I did it already, I just ordered the 4 button shell from eBay, I had to brake the old one though. It is glued and it's the only way I found, I just put the smart board in the new one and glued it, now it seems like new

Ray! What happens if you replace the battery. Then the key no longer works! My second smart key now will no longer work as well after we did this to other! Red light blinks and key lights blinks in dash red mx5! Any ideas?

I had lost the battery from my remote, remote looks like the same which I had watched, but I tried to put c 2025 battery size, it’s doesn’t work, I rang to mazda they unable to give me information about my battery size, how I will get right information about my battery size, I went to soo many shops already but they can’t fix that I tried 2025, 2016,2032 , spend almost $50 but nothing worth
