I am currently waiting for one! In Romania you can get it also with the less powerful Skyactiv-G engine. Yet I wish I could have afforded a Skyactiv-X...

Definitely consider it. Like the fact that its not another bloated SUV crossover borefest, and Mazda haven't felt forced into the touchscreen based interior that many other manufacturers have. When I'm next looking to change I will need to test drive. Like the idea of the novel engine, not sure what it would be like to live with though.

Its refreshingly different, yet to see one on the UK roads, only seen the hatchback variant so far. The fact that its rare does appeal.

Mazda make excellent cars - it's one of the mysteries of motoring that they are outsold by Toyota and Nissan. I think I'm right in saying that the first FWD Mazda 323 was the fastest million seller at the time, and that the MX5 is biggest selling 2 seat roadster in history.

@@mezzb Aye Mike - I think you've summed it up very well - a couple of my friends have MX5's - excellent cars - a couple of others have Toyota hybrids - roomy and economical but so dreary.
