A very smooove grooove reaction 🏄🏾‍♂! Frankie Beverly is the lead singer of the band Maze, they are one in the same just like Smokey Robinson & The Miracles. I see 👁👁 you have reacted to Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly before: Before I Let Go. We Are One was released as the third single from Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly's 1983 album: We Are One. The song was written and produced by Frankie Beverly. The song reached #47 on the R&B chart. Lyrics 🗒: Can't understand Why we treat each other in this way Taking up time With the silly silly games we play We've got our love And no matter how it's said or done We are one No matter what we do We are one Love will see us through We are one And that's the way it is We are one Sometimes I feel That we try and make each other sad The things we do How we make each other feel so bad We've got so much We could all be having so much fun We are one From the very start We are one Deep down in your heart We are one And that's the way it is We are one I Can't understand Why we treat each other in this way Taking up time With the silly silly games we play We've got our love And no matter how it's said or done We are one no Matter what we do We are one Love will see us through We are one And that's the way it is We are one We are one We are one Maze Ft Frankie Beverly Info 📰: Maze Ft Frankie Beverly has released nine Gold albums from 1977 to 1993. Their well-known songs include: "Happy Feelin's", "While I'm Alone", "Golden Time Of Day", “Southern Girl”, "The Look In Your Eyes", "Joy And Pain", "Before I Let Go", "We Are One", "Back In Stride", "Can't Get Over You" and "The Morning After". The band has maintained a large and devoted following over the course of their musical career. Howard "Frankie" Beverly was born on December 6, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He started out singing Gospel music as a schoolboy in a local church. He was raised in the East Germantown section of the city and was a graduate of the now defunct Germantown High School. As a teenager he formed the singing group: The Blenders, a short-lived a cappella, doo-wop group that were influenced by The Dells, The Moonglows and The Del Vikings. After that group dissolved, he founded the singing group: The Butlers (aka Frankie Beverly And The Butlers), which would be the first group that he recorded with in 1963. In 1967, he cut the song: "If That's What You Wanted", which became a Northern Soul standard. As time passed, they caught the attention of the record producer Kenny Gamble, who eventually released recordings by the group. It turned out that music performed by Frankie Beverly And The Butlers did not fit into the "Philly Sound", and after some heavy touring, the group relocated to California. The unit was re-named as "Raw Soul" and caught the attention of a sister-in-law to Motown singer Marvin Gaye. Marvin Gaye took the group on the road with him as one of his opening acts, and in 1976, he suggested that they change their name from "Raw Soul" to "Maze". Maze signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in 1976, and released their debut album: Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly, in 1977. From that album, the hit singles included: "Happy Feelin's", "While I'm Alone" and "Lady Of Magic", ultimately giving them their first gold record and earning Maze a devoted fan following. They also had success with the albums: Golden Time Of Day (1978), Inspiration (1979) and Joy And Pain (1980). The group has stated that their hit single: “Southern Girl”, was dedicated to all the Southern women from Virginia to Texas. Their next album recording was: Live In New Orleans, three quarters of which was recorded at the Saenger Theatre, on November 14-15, 1980. Three of those songs got into the US R&B chart, including: "Running Away", "Before I Let Go" and "We Need Love To Live". By that time, the band had a solid reputation in America and enjoyed a following in the United Kingdom with promotional support from the British DJ Robbie Vincent. In May 1985, Maze sold out eight nights at the Hammersmith Odeon. The band released their next album: Can't Stop The Love in March 1985, which featured the group's first number one R&B hit song: "Back In Stride". The Top 5 follow-up song: "Too Many Games" was also featured on this album. The latter single also became the band's biggest hit in the UK, where it peaked at number 36 on the UK Singles Chart. In 1989, they signed with Warner Bros records and released the hit albums: Silky Soul (1989), plus Back To Basics (1993), and released the live DVD recording at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1994. The two albums also attained gold disc status. They had another number one R&B success with their song: "Can't Get Over You". In 2009, a tribute album to all the hit songs of Maze was released called: "Silky Soul Music: An All Star Tribute To Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly", it included modern singing stars: Mary J Blige, Babyface, Kem, Mint Condition, Avant, Musiq Soul Child, James Moss, Ledisi, Joe, The Clark Sisters, Kierra Sheard and Raheem Devaughn, taking part on the album with Maze acting as the backing band. Frankie Beverly's onstage attire (all-white custom designed and made, casual clothing, including slacks, long-sleeved shirt, and a baseball cap) has become his signature live performance dress style over the years. It also has become tradition for the audience to wear all white to the concerts in honor of the group. In December 2009, Maze's keyboard player: Sam Porter 🙏🏾, passed away. No information on his cause of passing or funeral arrangements is available. On September 2, 2011, Maze's percussionist and background singer: McKinley "Bug" Williams 🙏🏾, passed away from an apparent heart attack, at age 65. He was laid to rest at Chelten Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2019, Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly's hit single: "Before I Let Go", was covered by Beyoncé as a bonus track on her fifth live album: "Homecoming: The Live Album". On May 9, 2023, it was reported that long-time Maze band members along with original member Roame Lowry left the band and started their own group: "The Music Forever (TMF): Formerly Of Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly".
