Haven't seen him for a while and have to say I'm dissapointed. When i look at Dexter and his improvement through the season. Much better.

They made him lose 30 lbs. That's the problem. Same thing with parsons after his rookie year. Instead of gaining 10 lbs to be stronger in yr 2, he lost 10 lbs

Some of these snaps look a lot better if there’s a linebacker there to make the play unfortunately he has Damone Clarke (trash) and a safety behind him but it’s important he’s making the opportunity for plays and don’t forget D tackles usually take a while to develop

I think everybody should probably calm down. He is going to be a beast in three years. After some time in the weight room and refine his 1:34 technique and he’ll be just fine. it takes past rushers three years to really come on unless you’r Parsons. Not many people on this planet are like Parsons.

Then why not just give any defensive lineman many years to become competent ? Why would any rookie ever get cut, in your view? Mazi shows no raw ability that just needs a few more years. No speed , and no power . So why does he get a few years ? Had he not been drafted so high , and shown this same level of zero impact play, he’d have been cut already

Took Tyler Smith a year. Believe he made the Pro Bowl this year. Give Mazi time, Hankins is the starter now, Mazi has another year to learn grow and develop

@@michaelferaco7746 I just don’t see the raw athletic abilities needed . Being the slowest guy off the snap ever is a sign that he lacks the minimal quickness needed . He also can’t seem to pay attention to where the ball is. When he says “I don’t even like football, I just like to hit people “ it does not give me confidence that he will be a student of the game and improve

Going up against one of the best offensive lines in football while being consistently double teamed. If the LBs filled the gaps there wouldn’t be an issue. Got a bunch of tiny guys that don’t read and react well at LB.

@@antcantcook960 PFF grades are a joke. He also graded as one of our best defenders in one of our worst games so what does that really mean. Also run defense is a team effort, one that the LBs were not up for, also Mazi lost 40lbs during the course of the season and was being asked to learn an entirely different style of DT. I’m not saying he was good, he wasn’t but he wasn’t as bad as all these casuals make him seem. If we’re talking “grades” Kalijah Cancey, a player draft a dozen picks before Mazi graded worse in run defense and pass rush, but you don’t hear nothing about that do ya?

That might be his best game of the year, but it is still not good enough. He is playing with more effort and quickness than before, but he is also playing stupid, like Tristan Hill. In 1-2 years he will be out of the NFL. If he is lucky he might be able to get a roster spot in the USFL.

Definity improved quite a bit from his first game. He was in a good position to make a play on the running back on quite a few plays here yet fails to free himself due to being out muscled. He still fails to see when teams are leading/ creating holes and seems to have trouble tracking the hb. agreed that he is much quicker than the beginning, but I still believe he has the potential to be a depth guy.

@@MySportsRevolution “potential to be a depth guy” on a defensive line that can not stop the run, is a bust of a first round draft pick . Honestly, he has no business playing in the NFL right now. He has absolutely zero impact. He can’t hold his ground, even against single blockers. He is often clueless as to where the ball carrier is. He is the last one out of his stance on the snap. People need to stop repeating the phrase “Mazi is an athletic freak”, because there is zero evidence of that . Athletic freaks actually make plays every now and then, on athleticism alone. Mazi does not make plays. He just gets driven either to the ground or driven far from whoever has the ball.

@@hermixtonen To be fair, I dont disagree with anything you said. And their run defense seems to be holding the lead, if that makes sense. Anyway, I look at his highest potential and upside and i believe its a depth guy. And can i be honest I never ever agreed or liked the pick, we needed a RB.

Ok so all the X Dlinemen done defending the guy??? He showed no improvement all year. Even when getting more pt due to line injuries. Still super slow to react to the snap. Smh pick up a proven vet this off-season. He needs more time to get right.
