Fantastic reaction! ❤️ She's an absolute doll! Tender, and beautiful voice! ❤️

If you notice the sign behind her, it says The Bridge...this was a charitable concert that Neil Young (when he resided on his ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains) put on every year to benefit disabled kids. It was an all acoustics show. ❤

Cannot beat walking across the South Downs (range of hills in Southern England) listening to Hope Sandoval and Mazzy Star whilst looking at the sky and clouds. Her voice takes me to another realm basically and is almost spiritual.

You should listen to the original track of this song (this is strictly acoustic, obviously) when you get a chance. The original has what is known as one of the most iconic guitar riffs of all time.

@@POPE. I remember when it hit stores--'94 I think. I had bought their first album two years before and didn't like it. No real songs, just a lot of white noise. But the magazine Entertainment Weekly gave Live Through This a rave, so I figured, "Okay, one more chance." Best album ever! I still have my cassette from '94.

I love Mazzy Star. I discovered them from an episode of Sopranos, the song was Look On From Down The Bridge. ✌️

Glad I'm not the only one who discovered them the same way. Sopranos had a great music along with a great story.

"Fade into You" was the lead single from Mazzy Star's second album, So Tonight That I Might See, released in 1993. My girlfriend back then really liked the song a lot. We used to listen to that album all the time. The singer is named Hope Sandoval. The band was formed from remnants of the group Opal. They were part of the Californian Paisley Underground movement of the 80's -- which is a thing I didn't know existed until now, although I did own a couple of paisley button ups back then. I saw Opal play a few times when I was in college. Here's a list of tunes from back then and since in a similar sonic ballpark as Mazzy Star, including Cowboy Junkies "Sweet Jane" (1987), 10,000 Maniacs "What's the Matter Here" (1987), Swans "In My Garden" (1987), The Church "Under The Milky Way" (1988), Throwing Muses "Mexican Women" (1988), Tori Amos "Winter" (1992), Victoria Williams "Crazy Mary" (1994), Gillian Welch "Revelator" (2001), Neko Case "If You Knew" (2004), Vashti Bunyan "Here Before" (2005), Eliza Gilkyson "Is It Like Today" (2005), Wilco "True Love Will Find You in the End" (2015). YMMV.

This is from a Bridge School Benefit concert. The concerts (1986-2016) were organized by Neil and Pegi Young and is a great place to watch big bands in a (semi) accoustic and more intimate setting. Just type Bridge School Benefit

The guy who played and wrote the acoustic guitar part for this song and other Mazzy Star songs died a few years ago. I love Mazzy Star a lot - you should check out the studio version of their song "Into Dust." There is no way this song is better than Led Zeppelin's song "Black Country Woman" aka Birmingham England Country Woman. Fade Into You is great, but has zero energy.
