You can deffo hear the difference through a pair of decent 30/40 doller or more in ear/over headphones, the responsiveness of the ported enclosure is evident in this vid as is the loads louder horn enclosure that will shout/bang louder through a narrower frequency band.yiur buddy will need a 12 to be close to the same output levels at your box's peak fs. Stick an extra ayer on your box and befriend a portable router and you may just fit a ew solo 12 in that box, not made for that sub you yiu would defo notice a good-"fun" difference.

You're welcome Rell. Appreciate it. Man I have so many set ups I just keep switching them out. What you see is 2 rockford T1 12s. I have a JL RD 1500 on them at 2ohm. They sound great. But I been running 1 10 or 1 12 lately and I'm liking the one sub set ups. My favorite thus far has been my MTX 7512. Keep the videos coming man!

Great vidoe Rell! Listening to you system made me re-tune mines and it is louder but still not as loud as that 10" (pause) (which makes sense). I wish I did (2) 8s in a horn or the (1) 10 in a horn. Time for an upgrade.

You go off his 10" in a horn enclosure and compare it to your 8" in a ported box and say the horn is better. You have one 8" sub, its not gonna be as loud as the 10" version. Get another 8 or go up in size of you want to be louder, cuz getting a horn enclosure for your 8 still isn't gonna be as loud as his 10.

I completely understand that. I do not believe I said the 8 in the horn would be as loud as the 10. I simply said the horn enclosure hits all the nots stronger over the ported in my opinion. I will be stepping up to (2) 10s in the future.
