No PL club is ever gonna be close to Real Madrid because the culture in Spain is so much different to the UK. You can play shit have an emotional interview post match and the fans will lap it up here. Not in Spain, you will be booed every game. The presidents there are also elected and because the clubs aren’t owned by businessmen they HAVE to do a good job to stay in. The objective is never purely financial like it is for businessmen running PL clubs. Top 4 and progress has become a buzzword in the UK for football. There is no longer any urgency or incentive for the big clubs to win immediately. They are always being sold a make believe future that doesn’t exist

He says the same about Tuchel and Conte as well, without a scintilla of evidence. Says United should not go near Conte because he failed at Spurs yet advocates for Graham Potter, who spent the most in a single transfer window and got sacked with Chelsea not even mathematically safe from relegation. Conte lost 3 of his best friends(1 being the fitness coach right before that insane run of fixtures before the world cup), had to have surgery and had the media on his back- still finished much higher than Potter.
