Yup, I noticed that most idols are actually pretty good with English comprehension, but have difficulties in speaking or just aren't confident enough. Like Suga, he understands a lot of English, he can write and read in English, bit he just isn't confident in speaking. I think this goes for anyone learning a new language, since listening to and reading in a foreign language is passive learning, you can easily understand, write and read, but communicating or actively constructing sentences is a lot harder than just reading and writing.

ok people are making fun of 'shampooed' but like how else would you say it? as a native English speaker I would say 'i shampooed my hair yesterday' like what else would the past tense be? he was right lol. but anyway boo did really well, its really hard to form your own sentences when you're learning a language, even if you understand a lot. this is actual footage of me in German class 😂 like I understand well and I might even have the vocab, but I can't figure out the structure of a sentence to express myself. but seungkwan actually did what a good language student should, he said what he could, even if it wasn't very interesting or elaborate, and he got a point across. plus you can just tell that seungkwans improved a lot lately and he understands English pretty well. I'm really proud of him.
