My Daddy told me - after 33 years as an Army Officer - 3 wars, that he admits to, when I told him I was going to embark on a military career like him, he gave me his best advice : "Son, don't be the best, don't be the worst, be the guy in the middle whose name they can't remember."

Why did I not know about this channel before? Funny beyond belief. My husband was in the Army. That beautiful man of mine (God rest his sweet soul) could and did fall asleep anywhere. He told me he learned it in the Army. He also flat out refused to stand in line and wait for anything. He'd be walking back to the car talking under his breath..."I did enough waiting in lines for days in the Army, not doing that ever again." You learn to do things like go to your favorite restaurant at 4pm, buying movie or concert tix on the phone...etc. I miss him every moment of every day. Great fun here. J in Oregon

It will be 5 yrs on July 23rd that he passed, and I am still mourning him. I have no interest in dating anyone. He was the love of my life and no other man will ever replace him. As for today's women. I'm so sorry hon. I have pretty much not a lot of respect for them. There are genuine people out there still though. You won't find them in bars though. Perhaps try an online service, I know several couples who found love that way. I wish you much luck in your search. My advice would be to really take your time. I was in Saudi Arabia for the Persian Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm). I could have slept on a cot. But I found that I liked sleeping in the sand - most comfortable bed ever!

Your description at the recruiter is kinda what I went through. Was promised Air Craft Mechanic. Then was told the school was full and I needed to sign an open contract until the school opened. Well...I was in the infantry.

There's a base here in Savannah, GA and some actually have beautiful women with them. It's the uniform they have a thing for though, the soldiers are always pieces of shit.
