This game was my whole childhood, I have every little moment of it memorized. That said, it is bizarre how obtuse they made the flying mechanic. Sure once you learn to pull back and *bwoop*bwoop along, you can outright bypass any number of levels. But it’s not the easiest thing to do, and the game itself offers no real help. Good luck, boys! The journey has just begun!

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the reason y'all can't seem to fly is because you're pressing the wrong button. If I remember correctly you don't press the up and down buttons. Once you're in the air and heading right, you press left on the d-pad over and over. I don't think the lag should be a big issue here either
