So so long ago, Griffin did a stream on Twitch in which he solo sailed out to Marauder's Arch and then did sick boat stunts. He never spoke the whole stream, the background was Enya's Sail Away on repeat. It was beautiful and surreal and sometimes I wonder if I dreamed it.

The worst year name/motto yet but I guess that's the point now? Feel like after Twenty-Fixteen and Collaborateteen went real bad (also 2020 by sheer coincidence) they've just decided to stick to dumb jokes. Also they think "twenty" rhymes with "funny" which is the whackest thing I've ever heard in my goddamn life. It's the Chicago deep dish pizza of phonetics, just categorically wrong in every way. I'd have gone with something along the lines of "twenty-set us free: ending toxic cycles" but I'm the fool who wants this shit to *mean* something.

Like most of the time the McElroys are great, but a few times each year, the bit is just "oh, oh they *genuinely* are completely ignorant on this topic/have no idea what the fuck they're talking about/think this extremely stupid thing is a good idea" and that's not really funny so much as it is troubling. Like usually you can tell they're just riffing and they *know* what the "smart" answer would be and they're just choosing to be funny instead, it's the times they're being *sincere* about being dumb that I take issue with. As to *why* I might not be very patient with stupidity, feel free to pop open your news source of choice and have a look at where tolerating stupidity has gotten us. Also get back to me on how much you're surfin' the vibe when 2023's atrocities start happening. The last two years' (and the latter half of 2020's) mottos were meaningless gibberish (or meaningless gibberish in a tuxedo), so they kind of dodged the whole "the world is going to hell so maybe year mottos referencing positive feelings are a bad idea" but who knows, maybe this is the year things start chilling out. Bet we'll all get to look back and reminisce on all the vibes we surfed and how very relaxed we all were.
