The late playwright and musician, Mbongeni Ngema has been applauded and acknowledged for the role he played in developing the music industry and promoting unity through arts. Ngema was killed in a head-on crash while returning from a funeral at Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape. His work reflected the spirit of resistance during the apartheid years.
