This is how all bike reviews should be done! The Story telling is great, i learned something! Glad to see you using the gro pro the way it was meant to be used!

I do have the v1 Dreadnought since 2021 and picked up a Druid V2 2 months ago for the mellow local trails.. It's not so much of a revolution but the druidv2 feels much more composed and agile. Had the chance to ride a v1 druid and it rides like a smaller version of the dread v1.. The V1 Dread plows through stuff but kind of sucks on tight, steep turns. Just feels like A LOT of bike and really long. Needs a lot of rider input to get through tight turns. The V2 Druid has almost the same wheel base but feels much more alive and agile. So I bet this iteration of the dreadnought feels almost the same. The V1 Dread although for me had the issue that the rebound of the damper always felt too slow making the back feel dead. I even had a Rockshox RC2T damper reshimed to allow more rebound and now it feels better. At least the second druid iteration does not have that. If they bring something crazy in purple in the future, I might swtich the old workhorse over.. Deep Space Nine as a coloured frame just cannot be topped.

I have the same setup dread v1 and Druid v2 and I couldn’t agree more. The dread is a sled and the Druid is almost telepathic to ride

Good initial review indeed but I really hope there will be also in-depth review. IMO this bike deserves it.

Did you notice more flex in the rear end vs the v1 dreadnought? I've only been on a few rides with my v2 but this is the first thing I noticed. Makes sense I guess, given the inverted 4-bar vs HSP

I run 475 chainstay on a 505 reach, 62.5 head angle, 79 seat tube.. most balanced bike I've ever riden, not many companies know where it's at, at least one of them is starting to wake up. Still there geo is all over the place, it's like a med reach, lrg back end on a XL seat tube! The S4 is for a real tall rider but the reach is way too short.

what bike are you riding?
@ProWhiteAntiJew8 күн бұрын
@@cben86 agreed... that is 17.5 degrees between head tube and seat post angle. So far the largest angles I've seen are about 14 degrees, nukeproof mega and rocky mountain altitude.

I had the Dreadnought V1 and the rebound was always too slow, even though the rebound tune was very fast. The rear end always felt dead without support. Strange that this problem is being addressed here for the first time. In the tests back then it was the best rear end ever.... Let's see if the V2 is really better...

I have come to same conclusion that long chainstay bike have way more front end grip than short chainstays. I used to love short chainstays for the playfullnes and agility but all my crashes were loosing the fron tyre. I tried different tyres, different stack and bar hights. Then i tried a bike with 450 chainstay and i was like hold up… wait a minute. Yes it looses agility but the ammount of grip and confidense it gives specialy in wet is something else.

Weird spec choice. Wireless drivetrain on every model, but then you get base level suspension and brakes on the base model (for quite a steep price mind you).

Can you remove the lower chain guide on v1? Or will this result in chain constantly dropping? Does anyone know?
@nolanbruce93764 ай бұрын
This one was designed around a specific mrp chain guide, unlike the v2 druid. They’re pro team have all been running the v2 dread with chain guides, but then again they can’t afford dropped chains. Haven’t seen anyone remove guides yet on the v2 dread, but I’ve heard the mrp guide barely gives any resistance anyways.

To race Enduro idk most people who get these bikes don't race at any level. If I was racing enduro as a privateer I'd try to get a free frameset or something, whatever brand...
