I have the "acoustic" version with pedal power and I love it. Same deal though, tires are bad (1st upgrade) and the wheels themselves feel heavy, but my friends have ridden it comparing to their more expensive bikes and they say that the aggressive angles make descents fun. However, climbs feel like a slog (problem solved with a motor I guess).

I took the time to test Moro07 and it is great bike. I spent a few hours on the bike to realise the difference between a good bike and an affordable. Yamaha Moro 07 I’d just streets ahead of the other bike I looked at and for the price I paid it was a no brainer. I have taken the bike to bits and lubricated all three moving parts ( out the factory it’s dry) removed all the cables and re routed them, ( the motor harness and speed sensor harness is too long and this was interfering with the dropper post operation. I have also changed to run a 29er up front and I honestly say I night and day difference in the ride handling and the speed it carries is incredible. The balance and the weight shift to the back of the bike just makes it feel so agile. Down side of this bike ( for me battery size and weight) 500 watts and4.8 kg. For the battery so to carry a second in a back pack is difficult for long days out. I managed to 68 miles on one battery I’m 69kg fully loaded with kit. My girlfriend has the same bike as well and uses every day for work and leisure activities at the weekend she has clocked up 750+miles in just a few months and the only maintenance is chain cleaning and lubricants. As far as I know they have sold out of the bikes in the uk for a few months but that might’ve changed since but if you are near a Yamaha bike dealer / showroom and you want to get an e-bike get down there and get a test ride on one,

I actually agree with not using a emtb hardtail for anything but fire roads and light trails/dirt tracks. Borrrowed a Trek powerfly HT for a week and it was aweful on normal trails, too heavy at the rear end to be able to control over certain terrain, uncomfortable is an understatement! Long dirt trails and fire roads though were great!

@fredEVOIX
@fredEVOIX Ай бұрын
zero reason to ride a hardtail in 2024 1) just get lockable fork and shock and it's perfectly fine, I did 87km 1252m D+ (54miles 4100ft not my record btw) on a fully suspended muscular mtb and I'm 220lbs most of those ascents are 8% to 20% slopes that's Tour de France mountain pass hard lock isn't 100% firm but less than a pinky finger thickness of pumping isn't really noticeable with slow rebound 2) hardtail does not work on emtbs at all you must use different sitting arms body positions as your no1 goal is to push the rear wheel as much as possible against the ground and having a suspended rear is mandatory for that, I rented 2 hardtails the last 3 years and they do not work your rear wheel slips and you end up pushing a very heavy bike up, the only reason they still exist is to cut cost nothing else, find a how to ride emtb tutorial and it'll become clear why hardtail emtb make no sense, I watched one before renting the last fully suspended emtb and did 5813ft 1772m ascent easy most of it in ECO mode actually, it started freezing (2277m 7470ft summit) so I cut short but had 25% battery left because I didn't waste it doing burnouts like on the hardtails

My critique of all of your reviews would be to always mention if a bike doesn't have headset cable routing and highlight that as a huge feature and vice versa to bikes that have it and loudly call them out for it.... the larger MTB media like yourselves needs to help get the message out to the incompetent frame designers out there so this ridiculous kool fad disappears on their next frame release. So buy a £1000 hub drive ebike instead and see how far that gets you. Not too far I’d wager. These bikes are good value considering they have similar technology to brands that sell £15k bikes and will do pretty much anything the expensive ones will do too!

I really wish people stopped comparing bikes you can only get on sale and that have very limited availability sometimes a single day to the regular market, especially since those prices only work for europeans a 5000$ cube is 10'000 in the US and 15'000 in AU at least start with "IF and WHEN you can get it on sale and IF you live in the right country" instead of saying "you made a bad choice because you bought what is actually available to you" except it's not I waited too long my sizes on sale are all gone the next comparable bike is now 2000€ more, this is not a video about waiting for the correct season and time to buy a bike or ebike and where to get the best deals

Polygon actually owns a factory and makes bikes for other brands. We’re not sure if that includes the two brands you mention, but Polygon definitely makes its own bikes.

None of them. A DIY e-bike is far cheaper to build and you can start out with a much better base bicycle. I converted both my Cannodale Trail Six and Milwaukee gravel bikes and they are now awesome e-machines and faster and more powerful than EU regulated bikes.

@EmotoOregon All true, but this was an educational video. My KZbin Channel shows my bikes and plenty of rides, they work well and my old knees are happier too! I just passed 1650 km on the new Cannondale, 25,000 on the Milwaukee, no problems and its very hilly in this area of Spain.
