Better than Morzine? Discovering amazing trails in Crans Montana, Switzerland

We got the opportunity recently to go and check out the network of trails around Crans Montana in Switerland. Situated in the Valais region, just 2 hours from Geneva airport by train, Crans Montana has hosted rounds of the EDR (formerly the Enduro World Series) and is gearing up to host the UCI Cross-Country World Cup later this year, and the World Championships next year.
With enviable direct access by public funicular all year round, the Crans Montana resort sits at 1,500m above sea level, and nearly 1,000m higher than the valley, making it easy to enjoy ample descents with very little climbing. And the generally dry and warm temperatures (this is a well-known wine making region) means that you can ride here almost all year round.
During the summer months, there is a bike park and network of alpine trails that expand the possibility to rack up some serious descending.

Love riding in Switzerland, but cannot afford it unfortunately. Spent in 1 week in Verbier, what I would spent in 3 weeks in Morzine. Riding great, but unaffordable for most unfortunately 😕

Definitely expensive, but if you stay one night you get an Explorer card which gets you free or discounted lift passes, which helps reduce some of the costs.
