Shalwar qameez is totally different from kurta-pajama. In shalwar-qameez, both shirt and trousers are very loose and thus too much comfortable. It is the common traditional dress of all the four states of Pakistan as well as Afghanistan. So it's declared the national dress of Pakistan. Pakistanis like arabs like to stick to their own local traditions instead of adopting Western traditions. Thats why they look somehow different from their Indian cousins.

One correction: Kurta/Pajama is not shalwar Qameez. Jo aap Kurta Pajama sun rahai ho woh Shalwar Qameez hai, Kurta/Pajama Urdu logon ka libas hai, woh app ko Sindh mai hee milay ga. Zong is Chinese, TeleNor is Norwegian.
