MBRP Quiet Tone T409 muffler vs Magnaflow 14771 4" in / out muffler on my favorite GMT800, my own 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 CCSB LQ4 6.0 / NV4500 5 speed pickup.

The Magnaflow sounds amazing! I had an SLP muffler for a TBSS on my 6.0. 2500 and it sounded very similar, though it was dual in/out

Wish my 2008 was a manual. It's an auto 6-speed though, and damn is it fun to daily drive. Truck sounds excellent, I'd go with the MBRP personally.

This is one that video does not do any justice whatsoever on. Magnaflows are so damn deep in person that they don’t get any transfer of the sound to the videos.

Yep! The lt1 mustang is in other videos. The sound didn't change much but I ended up going to a different muffler to mellow out the drone a bit more. I need to check the part number. I'll make another video.

I know on a diesel truck if you put the straight flow muffler on the reverse way that it is suppose to be it will sound better than the correct flow way.

Did I miss it, or did you not show what the MBRP looks like inside? Also, do you have a tip for it? If it exits just past the bumper, that should help with drone. My neighbor up the street has the same setup but with a Dynomax Mini Bullet and it's pretty loud but sounds great.

@1:45 I show both. I did put a 12' 4 inch in out tip and it made a difference.

How does the magnaflow sound compared to the dynomax you had before? I have the dynomax on mine and it's a little loud for my taste anymore. Hoping the magnaflow is quieter.

The Dynomax was incorrectly set up as it was reduced from the factory dual 3" down to a dual 2.5" and out a 2 1/4" tail pipe. It sounded choked and had a bunch of leaks.

It may work if you go with a 2500HD exhaust configuration with the 3" dual exhaust.

@@35RSkyline Thank you! For the 1500HD, I believe it is a different pipe setup so you may need 2500HD headers and midpipes, cats, etc, for it to work. For the 2500HD, I used a Walker 55510 Y-pipe (Mine's a 2005) and a Walker 55509 Tail pipe. Disclaimer, this setup DRONES while towing.

stock manifolds. the magnaflow was a 4" in/out 27" total length muffler.

It was everywhere except for certain RPMs where it droned incessantly. I ended up changing it for a cheap diesel muffler which killed the drone. I'll post a video!

Cant believe you would actually dress like that even if throw away closes, I only wear my finest lol. I am getting ready to order the MBRP duel setup for my 2004 Silverado 2500HD. Previous owner installed Flowmaster setup on it and would be fine if it was a muscle car. I do not want a truck that is screaming for attention. Sound good sure, high signing no.

Was the 5 speed factory in your truck or was it swapped? I thought GM only put them in regular and extended cab GMT800’s. I’m planning on swapping my 02 soon, also interested in what diesel muffler you ended up with and the results
