As someone who has suffered from depression and bipolar disorder my whole life, I always admire your strength, bravery, and courage. I live alone and have for years so it's extremely difficult. I'm divorced and miss the support of my husband. There has always been an inner voice and fight in me since I was an abused and neglected kid. I do have my sister who lives in another state who practically raised me since I was 8 and we are in constant touch. Thank you for always being willing to share your story and supporting others.

Thank you Maurice for doing State of mind it helps give me hope that I can overcome my problems as I have anxiety agoraphobia and recently had an anger blackout for anyone who's reading this comment who doesn't know what an angry blackout is mine happened like this someone was talking a lot of trash to me proving how much they didn't care about how I felt or what I needed I tried to talk calmly to them but they wouldn't stop I got hot and dizzy next thing I know I couldn't see or hear anything for a few minutes I came to screaming at the person that both hands bald to my side I tried to play it off like I knew what I was doing and just left as they were just sitting there looking at me. so now I'm thinking oh great I have to worry about having blackouts if I get too mad now but I know symptoms get mad then dizzy and hot equals I need to get away from this person as fast as possible before I don't know what I'm doing and come to in a bad situation. Forgive me for rambling a little bit in this comment I thought it might help someone help who might have had the same experience Anyway as State of mind points out we all have things we have to come through and with faith and baby steps we'll get through it

Maurice, I've been alone for the past 20 yrs. I always have family support. But, at night it's the worst for me. You're right it does all pass, but at the time it happens we don't think it ever will get better. I haven't been feeling all that well myself... but really it's my faith that gets me thru. I will always keep you in my prayers always.❤❤️🙏🙏❤️❤️

I used to have panic attacks. Something you said at the beginning is exactly what made my panic attacks stop! You called anxiety, friend! As soon as I recognized that my anxiety was trying to be my friend, my attacks stopped. Sounds crazy right? Not at all. My anxiety started as a friend softly tapping on my door. I ignored my friend. The tap turned into a knock. Still, I ignored my friend. Then my friend started to pound on my door and I couldn't ignore my friend anymore, but I stood back from the door and tried to block my friend from coming in. Finally, my friend anxiety blew the door open. I couldn't ignore it anymore. With therapy I was able to no longer fear my anxiety but see it as my friend who pays me a visit every once in a while as a gentle reminder that I might be headed in a wrong direction. That is when I pause, smile, take a deep breath, and then say thank you out loud to my friend for showing up and reminding me to check myself! It sounds odd, but it has been comforting, and my fear is gone. My panic attacks are gone, and over time, respect for myself and my boundaries took its place. Thank you for putting yourself out there. ❤

I tell myself not to worry this too shall pass. I love seeing children as I post them on facebook. Also listening to religious music is my way of praying and meditating. Especially when the words are what I want to say to my distant family. Not many friends because I am new in GA. Family is not communicating and I feel excluded. You are blessed for your family and friends and a fantastic job.

Mo great . Love all you do for mental health. Have helped us all so much. Just a gentle. Reminder exercising ,diet and sleep don't always help when you have multiple chronic medical issues that you have to take meds for. I have had meds that . swore I had to take make me have an episode . Once weaned off I was fine.

MB, so very sorry anxiety decided to visit while you had the flu. Your acting never skipped a beat. The only time I didn't like Sonny was while he was off his meds. We were very annoyed at the writers for keeping Sonny in that storyline for so long. Sending you love and admiration for all you do to encourage insight into mental health. ❤️🙏🕊❤️

@ I know what that feels like and it's a very difficult thing to go through on your own. Having been there obviously I've always come out of it but it took me a long time and many struggles to learn that I had to force myself to stay as calm as possible, take slow deep breaths and keep telling myself it will be okay. While that all sounds so easy I know you understand how difficult it is. I keep you in my prayers.
