Literally always has been. Well, I guess in season 1 his inexperience with limited didn't make him the "skilled one", but it's not as if Cimo was a limited mastermind either, just better at adjusting to that environment than Gage.

​​@@pptemplar5840 Cimo's deckbuilding was much better than Gage imo, hell prob still could be if IWIWD wasn't a thing. That episode he played quick play attack booster in stun to play around Gage's Trap Stun, his burn meta call against fairy box and times he chose to bring back burn after realizing Gage's side deck not being ready etc. were quite good imo. For technical play, Cimo is very volatile. He does the dumbest misplays sometimes, then the most heads up thing in another. Gage did get very good at reads & technical play these days tho as said.

This is an era of ygo where you are able and expected to run removal cards that out floodgates and the game will likely not end in a single turn. Dragon Rulers were doing this on the regular against spellbook and evilswarm. Like the reason floodgates are bad in the modern game is because they prevent you from playing, you aren’t able to play correct outs because you need to run enough engine.
