Screw the old equipment, we need to get the new rotems to the north. The south always get the new and good looking equipment, while the north we’re stuck with one non-rebuilt 900-series k car on a trainset. Which are dirty and have windows that are all scratched up as well as the windows having years of ultraviolet clouding on them from the sun. Also, sorry about the harsh language. But, we really need to get the new equipment up here.

as much as i love the nostalgia with the old equipment, you’re right and mbta chooses not to because they believe the north side is not as important as the south side due to “less” rider ship and that makes them think they should put the less reliable equipment on the north, though in my opinion it should be as equal as the south side

1:49, there are two rare coaches: a first class coach (514) and ski car (219) which runs on the MBTA’s Wachusett Ski Train to Wachusett Mountain on the Fitchburg Line. Surprisingly I’ve seen that coach (514) on the CapeFLYER a couple of times.

I've seen Coach 219 before as well. that coach is used on the Fitchburg line to Wachusett Mountain during the winter and then it's used on other Northern lines during the off-season since only half of the coach was converted to hold skis. It's too bad the other rare coaches- bike car 221 and Cafe cars 224 and 225 are not used in the off season when The CapeFlyer Train is not running.

Classic looking locos, sound nice to, a lot nicer than those horrid 20 series things. Super video, all the best from Lancashire

They sure do, and they might not be the crews’ first choice but I certainly enjoy the older stuff more! Thanks for watching

weird not seeing a lot of comets anymore, but i do like the E-Bells on the geeps. we need more steel bells down south
@rail_spike_productions Жыл бұрын
The comets sure are dropping like flies. Steel bells on the south side are quite uncommon yes and I fear there won’t be any left before we know it
@reallifechronicles1707 Жыл бұрын
@@rail_spike_productions agreed. The south side, to quote a conductor, gets all the "fancy stuff". I don't know how fancy the kawasaki cars are but not much. You guys up north are finally starting to get the good cars, all though I would like to see them send all of the 91 Era trailers up north.

Personally, I’ve been enjoying the old stuff we’ve had up here for a while 😂

I know people love the new 3C F40s but honestly, I prefer the GP40MCs... god that HEP generator sounds amazing. Eardrum damaging noise from these monsters of locomotives

4:07, What, two bi-level cars hooked up next to each other on the north side. Why would they do this?
@rail_spike_productions9 ай бұрын
Yes that was quite the unusual consist. I believe the bilevel behind the cab car did not have a functioning bathroom so it was just being treated as a normal coach
@thewachannel45376 ай бұрын
I believe it was because the first coach behind the locomotive was a first class coach with recliner seats (514), the 2nd coach was a bike/ski car (219). the formatting with Single Level coaches being at the front of the Train and Bi-level cars in the back reminds me of the Cape Flyer Train, except this was the Winter Ski Train. Usually it runs on the Fitchburg line to Wachusett Mountain during the winter time, but in the summer, they sometimes keep the set together and run it on other Northern lines like the Newburyport Rockport line. Ironically I saw those two coaches- 219, and 514 before on another Train set in late March 2023 kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3KYYnidlryHnZo
