1400 looks great. Very good upgrade. Even in malaysia we use crrc trains more. Like: CSR/CRRC Zhuzhou AMY, CRRC Changchun Equator, CSR/CRRC Zhuzhoi Class 92 and 93

Quick question to anyone who knows, why do they run their trains with taillights only instead of headlights and taillights..?

Headlights are blinding bright, they’re only used in the tunnels and at night but have to ve turned off entering the station. Some operators dont and use them throughout the trip

Guess Boston can't afford to wash their trains....the older orange line cars are filthy....I even saw rust spots....yuck

The old Hawker Orange Line rail cars are just over 40 years old, and very long in the tooth, hence their poor condition. Their Blue Line counterparts from the same order suffered the same fate at a more accelerated rate due to their exposure to water and salty conditions of that rail line, and were all replaced by 2011 with stainless steel bodied Siemens cars. In comparison, the old Pullman Red Line cars that are over 50 years old are in better shape, but still needing eventual replacement.

Boston seems to have a policy of ceasing to maintain their old equipment once the new equipment starts to arrive. I took a ride on one of the few remaining DMA-460LFs on the Silverline a few weeks ago and the wire spools for the poles were about to fall off and the engine sounded like it had a bucket of nails bouncing around inside of it, not to mention that it sounded like it was going to throw a rod through the cylinder head every time it started...
