I tried to watch some of his content when he first started doing the big master duel tournaments but something about the dude just rubs me the wrong way. Always found it a little bit strange that he runs a community for a card game that involves a decent amount of socialization and he basically operates on an island and doesn’t interact with anyone else at all too. Scouting is important in any competitive activity. Like, even in High School Freshman Football we would watch film of the upcoming team's games and analyze strengths, weaknesses, talk about how we would counter certain plays, and overall use it to prepare for that upcoming week. The same exact concepts can be applied to competitive children's card games.

I'm a bit remiss Dkayed, well, sucks. He's actually one of the KZbinrs who got me back into the game through MD. But he made me feel uneasy. He always took the time to acknowledge his haters and, in turn, rile his audience into supporting him. And he spoke of his leaks as being purely charitable for the community when... they weren't. The time rules are fine. They have to be there to make sure the tournaments end at a reasonable time. What I assume most people think myself included is that they inadvertently promote slow play, something I personally hate.

I don't think saying "People don't understand what timerules are." is correct, I think people don't like timerules because of how they are. There is not a single other game that does not let your opponent act after time has been called to my knowledge. Also the fact time rules are hit so often really shows how bad the time fits in yugioh. The current timerules suck so fucking bad. Having someone know its close to time only to come for a little while longer or to have a single burn effect once is terrible to lose to. Yugioh's timerules are absolutely abhorent and saying they are just misunderstood is so wrong. They suck, people don't misunderstand them, they don't like them. They suck because it has no agency from one of the players once it is called. If time is called only one player gets to decide what happens from that point on. Not only that because of how bad time rules are, slow playing and abuse of them makes the end of the game the most toxic part of the yugioh competitive scene, people most often get angry about this shit specifically. if you have a really close game and time is called during your opponent's main phase, you either instantly lose cause you have less lps or have to watch your opponent play for 15 minutes to try and burn you. IT IS AWFUL.
