Unironically have been playing Geistgrinder with a lot of success because it helps in the mirror, unclogs gummy hands, turns off Evenly/Lightning Storm/Imperm, and the lifegain really does come up more often than it should. Also Ultimate Nighmare has been not terrible as another thing your opponent needs to deal with if they have Accesscode for a whole Yubel lineup

the crazy thing about yubel is that EVEN WITHOUT PHANTOM it was a good deck, but phantom just made it tier 1... master duel players didnt have the slow grind over the course of 6 months waiting for the deck to get good, they just got max power and now they gotta deal with it in a format where the only other good decks were race and fireking (both decks that yubel can generally beat)

@@KD8_NotTheShoes It’s definitely not max power, right now, it’s incredibly weak to spell traps, but once we get the rank 10, oh, Yubel is gonna go on a tear, and then the Fiendsmith stuff will come out, and then Yubel will REALLY come out.

The funniest experience playing this deck, to me anyways, is seeing people’s reaction to Nightmare Pain being all out attack with upside, and seeing them think they’ve won without thinking to remove either the nightmare pain or ANY of the yubels

it's so fun running into yubel decks that activate exactly 1 yubel card then proceed to end on full unchained boards. i love these yubel decks that are literally 10% yubel and 90% something else my favorite yubel card is unchained soul of rage that links my board into abomination or sp after all, (sp being the second best yubel card)
