There was no video on how to program the 303, so here is one. I have had this for a while and never made my own patterns on it until now. When you figure stuff out on this you feel like a Jedi master. It can be very frustrating.

actually you don't have to stop to record each component of the drum. after you position the notes the first sound you want (in this vid: snare), you can hold SHIFT while the pattern is still playing to choose another part of percussion you want just pressing the keyboard notes to find it. after you release the SHIFT button you can record this new sound (kick, hats or whatever) without stop the music. it gets the process a lot faster =)

Thanks so much man, that was exactly what i was missing in the whole process!

@xanthrax13 the synth and all of the drums are on different assignable buttons below the knobs. You can controll what is on and off and when they come on or off.

@scheller00 Yeah that's right, you can shift between sounds on the rhythm part by holding shift - no need to stop the pattern.
@scheller0014 жыл бұрын
I am sure you can select other drum sounds without keep stopping and starting. Just hold shift while you press the key you want, while you hold shift it wont record it just plays the sound so you can select. Its been a while but I am sure thats correct.

Thank for this video. Someone gave me one of these and this is the only decent tutorial I could find. Dont know why this thing gets bad reviews, I got an ipad which is the best thing since sliced bread and I still play with the mc303 all the time. And not sure if the other people who asked found out but im pretty sure you can use this as a master or slave midi. Ill try and figure that out and post a reply video, thanks again man

Many things are saved automatic, any others you can do it using the SETUP W function. Key #15 in the keyboard.

@hongdekong yep, you are controlling the box with midi.

I followed tutorial from start and when i selected jungle the key you were hitting for a that snare noise, the same key on mine was like a tom or a bongo sound. Do you know why this may be? Is it possible someone before me altered the sounds for d06 JGL ( jungle) Thanks.

fantastic man, but do you know how to drop that synth in later. So like, once you've finished recording all the different synths and beats, how do you control when each new sound begins?

Same here.

No I dont, but i would like to find out. I was afraid to start making lots of user patterns because of the internal battery issue.

Hey dude, you managed to get the mc303 to sequence external synths? Trying to get it to talk to my Kong minilogue. Can get it working the other way but no luck sending out midi info. Keep up the good work. Peace

Can you change the volume of the different drum sounds individually?

This video was very helpful. I was making beats literally out of the box when my MC 303 arrived in the mail. Take a look at my channel and let me know what you think. Working on a jungle tune I'll upload soon!

Hi. I'm trying to wire it in to my setup where I've got beatstep pro as a controller for other devices. It seems the MC303 listens to all midi channels. How do I stop transmitting midi to it? Is there any way? Can't find online. Thanks in advance
@maxlee79775 жыл бұрын
I think you need a MIDI filter device.
@yodavongohta75775 жыл бұрын
The MC 303 listens to midi on that part which is selected at the moment. Every midi signal sent on different channels will be merged into this single part. This is in normal mode. You can put it in sound module mode and then it listens on midi channels 1-7 for every part and on midi channel 10 for the drum part (but you lose all functionality of the buttons and knobs on the surface). Manual page 74-77,80.
@kose1012 жыл бұрын
I think no, this is one of the mistakes in the 303. You can play with the velocity of the sounds while you record it, but once is recorded you can only change the volume of all the rythm part as one.
@hongdekong13 жыл бұрын
can you just plug in a midi controller and play the synth sounds?

How, for the love of god, do you edit the pattern..? It's like this thing was purposely designed to be user-unfriendly.
