Would love to see more of the MC-707's synth sounds. I don't see a lot of examples of what it can do sound design wise online. Loopop has an overview video showing how the menus work, but I want to hear examples. Comparisons like this one with the real 101 are super helpful.

What a fun way to learn about the SH-101 and the MC-707 synth engine at the same time. Thanks for the vid.

I didn't think about this until now, but there needs to be special holidays for producers/DJs. In this case, it would be July 7th. (And January 1st wouldn't just be New Years.)

If you had to choose one hardware box to make full tracks on in 2020 what would you go for? downtempo idm style
@Digiphex4 жыл бұрын
Probably this now that you can chain patterns. I think you can make a whole song on the Jupiter Xm as well but with the 707 you could put in a vocal.

Hi Mr Digi, Do you know how to record a pitch bend from external keyboard on the mc707? Grt,Remy

It doesn't record into it when plugged to MIDI in?

@@Digiphex Yes thats correct. I works but it doesnt record it.

It seems that you can do this now because of an update, if you are still interested.

Can the MC 101 do the same emulation of the sh101?

can you save user presets independent of a project?
@Digiphex3 жыл бұрын
I don't have the device anymore. But that would be cool to be able to save and trade presets. Maybe through Roland Cloud thing where you can edit patches, then save to desktop?
@simonmatele46213 жыл бұрын
@@Digiphex You can save your patches inside a project, which then can be shared freely.

the sh101 osc's always always start on phase
@Digiphex4 жыл бұрын
Partial phase lock is "ON" by default and has no audible effect on this patch. But I got an improved patch with the oscillators sync'd under OSC MOD 1-2/Structure 1-2/ON. It is probably due to the SH-101 having all oscillators derived from only one core oscillation. And now we have an exact emulation. Thank you for mentioning this!

What do you think of the deepmind ? I'm thinking of getting the 6. I have an MC 707. I love it!
@Digiphex2 жыл бұрын
For me, the best keyboard ever made. You can make all the sounds of AFX, Boards, and that era and those are the sounds I like. I have a patch set available and also a video where I show all the patches.
@mattspazmatic2 жыл бұрын
@@Digiphex Right on! I'll check that out. So far all the videos I've seen have shown it making very, hmmm, melodic sounds? Which I love, however, I primarily make EDM right now, so I'm wondering, how strange can it get? I'm sure it can get weird, but I'm still learning about synthesis. Also, if a custom patch is saved, is there a representation on the screen of where all the sliders should be set to recreate that patch? I searched for hours for the video that I thought told me that's how that works.
@mattspazmatic2 жыл бұрын
@@Digiphex Also, thanks for the replies, definitely subbed for that alone. That's a big deal to us guys who are still learning. I try to find the answers myself, but it's nice to have some human connection via the comments.

@@mattspazmatic You can get the iPad app that shows you all the sliders but not every slider at once on one screen but quite a few at one time. Also the Deepmind will tell you on the screen where each slider was originally set for the patch.
@mattspazmatic2 жыл бұрын
@@Digiphex Ok, nice nice. That's what I had thought about the deepminds screen. I won't have iPad money for a while, especially if I buy a deepmind, but it's good to know my options. I think I'm sold on it now that I've confirmed that. Thanks for the help and I also subbed for the quality content, not just the clear. concise, replies. Thanks a bunch!

The Zencore engine on the mc is deep but I have to say I was a bit disappointed when I had trouble cloning a single oscillator saw wave pad patch on my MicroKorg. Just couldn’t match the richness of the MicroKorg. The patch is simple, it’s just a saw wave set to sync with the other osc set to zero volume. Added some semitones of pitch to get that classic sync sound, delay, long release, slow attack. You would think that was pretty simple to clone... but the MicroKorg just has some special sauce that I can’t match.
@GrootsieTheDog3 жыл бұрын
I was able to get closer by adding lfo max fm rates to pitch to add more grit - then use a slow rate lfo on pitch to get synch sweep. Now it sounds great. But this is why the microkorg is so beloved. It's got a really gritty sync that sounds really rich. The sync is barely noticeable when you switch it on. I hope they update more sync options.

Hi. Would you recommend investing in the 707? I'm very seriously considering it.
@bux773 жыл бұрын
@@adamdoran235 I know you weren’t asking me but I love the 707. I have had a lot of other gear that has come and gone but I’m keeping the 707. Not great if you want to create custom sounds as it is a bit of a slog but it is amazing for sequencing and the presets as really great. I also use it to sequence external gear that can feed there audio into the 707. Depends what you are looking for but I love it
