Here I talk about how I want to structure songs on the MC707 in order to keep the clip-view tidy,
which can become important when I work on one song for a couple of days, forgetting which clip is for what.
This time around I wrote the script in advance, and recorded the audio before doing the video, so there are a number of weird image/text sequences. So bear with me as I get better at this.

Yes, you need to white board out your song structure. This is always a good idea.

Yeah, it's good advice, which I myself should heed more often :)

You know the MC-707 have scene chain? And you not need save scene per line. Any clip in track you can add to you scene. In song mode you can chain scene and create full atomatic song, you not need clip chain for this. And you can change scene view for 8 bank x 16 scene, default 16x8. And you can chain 128 scene in project!

Yes, I know about scene chain and the number of possible scenes. The point I made was that in contrast to working with a DAW there are few features that help keeping the project (visually ) organized if you opt for completing the song on the machine. And while there are quite a lot of scenes available one has to make do with 8x16 clips, that shrink down when you work with overlap, i.e. when the idea is that one instrument starts late in a given scene and has to have a 'waiting' clip in queue in front of it. If one solves that problem with more scenes then the problem of keeping track of the structure gets worse. I talk about clips and scenes explicitly in this vid, but I take your comment to heart in terms of me writing my scripts more clearly as I gloss over that topic really too quickly. (edited for clarity)

@@ToddMakesMusic Perhaps my songs are not so complex, but I fit up to 20 scenes into my tracks, without using clip chains, using only a bunch of scenes. But whenever possible I try to bring the project into order, this is really important. And it helps with live performance. This way, I also place the lines of clips from top to bottom. My clips in scenes are not necessarily duplicated and are each on their own line, but I try to place them compactly.

Hey @designer2108, after some time and trying your way out I firmly believe that the way you use scene-chaining is way better than mine. I'd like to make a short vid to give an update. I'd like to mention you if you're ok with that
