Synopsis
Upon joining the Literature Club, you start to gradually reconnect with your old high school crush - the school's resident 'idol' Monika. However, the closer the pair of you get, the more you realise that only do you have more in common than you realised - but that the perception of Monika being the 'perfect student' couldn't be further from the truth.

This is one genuinely interesting mod. Monika and MC being old friends, MC with his crush on her, and MC actually having talent of his own instead of being portrayed as a do-nothing ignoramus. And I loved that sly poke at Exit Music too.

@@GuyUnderTheBridge so...literally almost every other mod out there? These mods are made to be like, "what-ifs" to DDLC. Obviously, they're not gonna keep completely to the main story, unless it's like the Normal VN mod for DDLC that's designed quite literally to just be DDLC but as a normal VN, or other similar works.

@@SpectralLumo The main premise of DDLC is a psychological horror and genre deconstruction. Completely ignoring the main premise just makes a bad fanfic. The conflict in DDLC is Monika being tortured by her awareness of the game world and hurts her friends and destroys everything in order to get a route. Mods like this gets rid of every major premise of DDLC. No virtual world and Monika isn't being tortured by it nor does she have any power. The creator simply wants to explore his ship scenario using the characters of DDLC. If he decided to use different characters would ANYTHING change?

@@GuyUnderTheBridge While you may like those kinda mods, not every mod has to be some horror knock-off of DDLC. Not everyone wants to deal with that, writing wise and playing wise. If people like a ship of characters, and decide to make a mod about it, then that's up to them. It doesn't make it a "Bad Fanfic." Because making a mod based on the horror premise of DDLC when the game itself is already horror could be considered Bad Fanfic as well. If you don't like romance mods, then simply avoid them the same way many people avoid the horror-attempt mods for DDLC.

@@SpectralLumo by tossing out all the major aspects of DDLC just so you can focus on a ship is in fact making a bad fanfic. The canon Monika wouldn’t act anything like she does in a bad fanfic and would throw a wrench into the ship scenario. If the other characters don’t act like they do in DDLC or have the same traits then it’s a bad fanfic. Would you be interested in DDLC to begin with if it WASN’T a horror deconstruction? The fact is no one would care about the game because it would generate ZERO streamer hype.

Oh no this looked really promising but don't tell me they didn't include Monika's awareness. I'm not here for a dating game, I'm here for the unique 4:th wall breaking story the original game had, there is only One mod I know of that removes that plot point and is Still worth playing in My opinion and that is Fruits of the Literature Club.
