I have been going through all of your videos and watching everything I feel shaky on. I really struggle with electrochemical cells (never learned it in undergrad) and this made it SO simple. Your videos are seriously awesome and I really appreciate all your effort!

@@bremmethod I don’t know how it went because you never know but I felt so much more prepared from watching your videos. I will say there was an SDS page question very similar to one that you did on your channel. I was thinking of you!!!

you teach so well, and i just enjoy watching your videos because of how brightly you smile. studying for the mcat makes me put on such a serious face at times, but i find myself smiling as i watch your videos. thank you for supporting us during our learning process

Thank you so much for this comment!! I truly believe that learning should be something we enjoy doing; pretty much every pre-med I know started their journey because they fell in love with science and learning! I think it is so important to rekindle that spark, especially durning a stressful time like MCAT prep. Glad I was able to help you smile!

This was an amazing breakdown! I struggled with electrochemical cells so much but your explanation helped so much! I hope you can do a video on Mirrors and Lens too soon!

I'm glad it was helpful! And funny you should ask about Mirrors and Lenses. I'm working on one right now. It should be out in a few weeks.

Another helpful video! I have a question about your reasoning in the first question you present. At the start you state that the question is about a galvanic cell and as we know these cells are spontaneous by definition. But, isn't it a possibility a similar question could provide all negative reduction potentials, and so the correct answer would be "No the calculated reduction potential is negative and is this value"? Wouldn't it be safer to calculate the reduction potentials of the combined half reactions? Or, is this level of trickiness not representative of the MCAT? Or, did I make a mistake in my reasoning?
@bremmethod8 ай бұрын
If the answers didn't give us any patterns to work with, then yes the best course would be to calculate the overall reduction potential! However, I based these questions off how the AAMC likes to test electrochemical concepts - I've seen questions that test your overall understanding of electrochemical cells more often than straight calculation problems. So the critical reasoning in this video is good to practice alongside calculations!
