Hello Maggie, great review again. Can you please elaborate on how you simplified the question for Q. 2 and 3. How did you figure out what those questions were "actually" asking. Thanks

Hi Maggie, hope you and your brother are doing well! Did you both release an MCAT prep book? I am sorry if I missed its release date. Thank you both again either way!

Hi Laura! We have an MCAT “program” of sorts that really organizes a bunch of free resources anybody can access + videos that are right here on our channel. That’s right here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5ObmKF6Zr2cqJo (if you’re more of a reader, you can also find it written out on our website informingfuturedoctors.com) As far as a book goes, we did release a 100ish page document that we wrote going into all of the highest yield topics on the MCAT! That is also available on our website under the “shop” tab, and it comes with an Anki deck that John made too:-) we put a ton of effort into it, and hope you find it useful!

@@InformingFutureDoctors Thank you!! I will hop on your (sibling) MCAT prep site! I am an (older) non-trad applicant so I like reading material - print or online - for the MCAT to help me with retaining audio and video lecture content. I will let some of my non-trad pre-med friends know as well about your MCAT info. There are about 4-5 of us who have been out of school for a while, worked, went back to school for pre-reqs in the sciences and who are now studying to take the MCAT in 2023 (a few hope to sit for it in 2024/2025) so really appreciate this channel to assist us with the process. I find your and your brother's lectures incredibly informative, and the joint psych/soc one is so useful, I will go back to it again for review closer to my test date in the coming Spring. Thanks again!

@@lauraa2778 That's such an awesome story!! I assure you there are WAY more than 4-5 of you out there. We get emails all the time of people in similar scenarios so get pushing! I (John) have found that students like myself that worked for a couple years before starting medical school have a much easier time showing up to work for medical school than my peers so your story is an advantage!

How did you answer question 2? I am still sitting here with answer choice D and you said C
@InformingFutureDoctors2 жыл бұрын
Social stratification (answer C) describes how a society categorizes different individuals based off of things like race, wealth, and mainly socioeconomic status (which is the one the MCAT usually tests). This passage challenged the idea that children with low SES were the only ones with high incidence rates so that agrees with answer C. Cultural Relativism describes judging an individual based on their own culture. For example, I'm from the southern USA and here we drink iced sweet tea but we do not drink hot tea. Some individuals may think that's odd because in other countries, hot tea is the preferred way to enjoy the beverage. But in reality neither of us are weird because we're following the norms of our own culture. That idea is not what was challenged by the passage. Hope this helps! - John
