I was so confused at the beginning of this "miscast" because I fully believed Raoul sang the first verse and he is perfectly cast as Raoul. It took me a minute to realize he only sang Christine's part and entirely skipped Raoul's part. Beautiful.

It was a bit odd hearing him ( or a male )sing it, but even more so with the very odd the banjo accompaniment. But he has a very good singing voice.

I saw that Phantom movie in the theater way back, and I completely forgot Patrick Wilson was in it. Partly because he hadn't been in Watchmen and The Conjuring at that point, and partly because Gerard Butler's, erm, "presence" cast a huge shadow over the whole picture. That said, Patrick's voice is quite good here, and I hope he gets a chance at a better movie musical someday.
