@@eugenecrabs3954 the old fuels don't seem to do the same type of damage like modern fuels. I have had barn finds sitting from the 90s or older and slap fuel in and go, so definitely some changes in the fuels especially with ethonal

Just want to thank you for your video on rebuilding a carb on a Mac 10 10. I'm reworking an old right hand start and your detail in explaining the positioning of the gaskets in the carb was so helpful. Other KZbinrs had it sooo wrong. They didn't even know the difference between the ethanol components vs non ethanol. Thank you

Tinman,, I know I have commented in other awesome video's of yours such as the cutaway ones and porting. I am learning as much about saws as I can from Buckin, Ironhorse, you and The Chainsaw Guy @ West Coast Muscle Saws...I had often wondered about pulling the starter handle out while stopping a saw, and now within 5 minutes, I saw you and Buckin explain why. It was meant to be that I saw this.,

My first Mac was a Model 200 I got off a guy in Washington State. He showed it running for him, so I got it shipped to me. It gave me some fits trying to start it up and keep it running, I broke the pull cord from pulling many times. I also think it needs a different choke button since I have to hold it while starting. There are other setup issues I would hope to sort out too, like chain tension is either too tight or too loose in order to spin.

If you put it back together, and it starts leaning out on the throttle. Then you have to go back in and drill the plugs out, pull the screen on the main, clean the passages, install a new screen, and reassemble the carb. If you want it to sit and idle correctly you have to put the new screen in. Otherwise it will lean on idle and die. The screen keeps the fuel stable in the well.

Doesn't the McCulloch carb call for using both pump gaskets? The rubber and fiber pump. I believe the rubber pump goes down first onto the carb and then the fiber pump on top of the rubber.

Hi Tinman, I'm really happy to have been able to find your channel, there is very valuable information there! I have just acquired a Pro Mac 55. I know that the carburettor of this 10 10 fits in, but here in France they are not very common, do you have a reference for a new adapter? good for you and thank you for your content, your cooperation with Buckin is really nice.

..I love those old 10-series McCullochs!..Most of mine have a normal left-hand starter, but I have a couple with that odd/awkward right hand starter setup like you have there...what was up with those?..maybe they were built for the U.K./Commonwealth market?(would fit right in with the odd/awkward right hand drive vehicles)?..they are kind of neat and different, but are extremely awkward to start that way...

@SonOfLiberty19843 жыл бұрын
Go check out his other videos on carb tuning. It really is something you should do by ear. More often than not, 1 turn out will get the saw to run. The fine tuning should happen with a running and warmed up saw with a full tank of fuel. Make sure your air filter, fuel filter and fuel lines are clean and squared away!
