By the looks of things I'd say You're having a good time. It's a good feeling to bring a good tool back from the dead. I recently got bit by the old chainsaw bug myself. Speaking of bug, I like your shirt. J.I.W. Detroit, retired after 44 years. Your video is an inspiration ,thanks for posting.

Right on! Yeah, I have a blast. I enjoy bringing these little buggers back from the dead. It's a passion of mine. I love all things that are "fueled," but somehow the "sawbug" stuck.

Those were supposed to be automatic oilers with a manual override, right? You did a fair bit of pumping there. Was the automatic pump not working? Ever dig into that? I just picked up a PM55 tonight, so am trying to get familiarized. Also, the decompression valve... Mine stays where I put it. Are they supposed to shut off after the engine starts? I had to close it manually after I got the saw going.

Did it have a single jet carb when you got it? Sounds good and cuts nice. 👍😎

Yeah, it had a single jet carb when I got it. Not sure if that's how they were factory or if someone swapped it along the way. Most of these "10 series" saws I've had my hands on have high and low adjustments. Thanks, I sure get a kick outta this series of Mac's. They pull darn good for their size.

Yeah bro. They did come with a single jet from the factory. The PM 55's have a 57cc motor. Just like the SP 10-10s. Only difference between the two is that the carb in the 10s is a dual jet. If yer gona swap carbs, get the carbs that have the 2 jets pointing up at an angle. Like from a Pro Mac 10-10. It's a lot easier adjusting the screws when they're facing up. The 10 10 automatics have the dual jet carbs but the jets are straight out to the side. That bar on yers is pretty cool too.

@@bogg54 I know exactly the ones you're talking about. They do make life easier. Thanks for sharing the info on the two saws! The bar is an old oregon that was on a husqvarna 359 I have. I modified it just a touch to fit and scotch brite/sanded it.

Auto oiler not working?

It wasn't at the time, but has since "freed" itself of whatever was ailing it.

Gotta love those old Mac's! Many hours of enjoyment tearing down, rebuilding and learning on the 10 series platform.
