I do not have the head in front of me but both the intake and exhaust ports looked off center, or angled, and the transfers looked diagonal. Might all this be causing useful swirling and maybe help the fuel stay in suspension. Wave front or flame front burning the fuel more completely comes to my mind although I do not have the modern two stroke knowledge that you have researched. Love watching and learning from you. A round of Opti 2 for everyone.

Have you ever put an anemometer on the intake of a saw for beginning and end comparison? I have 1 due here in a few days and I plan on doing a comparison when I get a chance. More should in theory mean more power.

Great video bud. Glad your getting some rain!! The humidity finally broke here in Maine and I’m so glad. We don’t do well in humidity here. That was very odd how that wasn’t centered to the cylinder. I wonder if all the 850’s were like that?? As always WORK SAFE 😎😎🇨🇦🇺🇸

Hello Tin man, I would love to see what you could do with a cheap saw, just for laughs, keep up the good work!
@travisweldmaster78153 жыл бұрын
I dont think they would hold up very long and a clamshell case is generally in ALL of the cheap or homeowner saws, making it tough to...do too much without special tooling, and small(generally cheaper) saws are hard to get in an grind even if it had a standard head
@travisweldmaster78153 жыл бұрын
But it would be fun just to see what you could get away with for how long lol
@thesmallwoodlot4333 жыл бұрын
@@travisweldmaster7815 i know, but it would be a challenge in the least, just to see how cheap the engineering and manufacturing of the saws are! I have been running cheap saws for a few years, (poulan pro 5020, and have processed about 50 cord with it) and now just starting to have issues with it, but found out most of the issues are poor assembly ( loose nuts and fasteners) but runs strong when running! The poulan saws are a part of the Husqvarna family of saws and share many components so it may be worth looking into.

Tinman thanks for so many tips on all of these saws sr. Really helps a lot. One question. Have you ever ported an old gear driven Mac? Love ya buddy. 🌲🌲🌲
@travisweldmaster78153 жыл бұрын
Idk if mr tinman will be able to respond to everyone but from what I've heard him talk about mac's in past I dont believe I've ever heard him mention mac's, he says theyere "unabtanium" in his area so I really doubt it, if he responds hit me back, got my curiosity now, I do know hes done a few, but I doubt gear drive or I'm sure he would tell us

I've never done one of those but maybe one day I'll end up with one!

Is that stock exhaust port sloppy manufacturing or intentional 🤔 im still not confident enough to grind on my mint 850,im just gunna keep grinding on the easy to accumulate husky 2 series lol those mccullochs are a strange design they pull like deisel tho lots of down low grunt,thanks for showing what your doing in great detail very much appreciated

@tinmanssaws3 жыл бұрын
Yeah there was a chunk out of it fir sure.
@eltorogi46142 жыл бұрын
don't port the exhaust much because it may trap the carbon,and turn it back to your piston
