Nice setup! That setup at 4:47 looks like a bit of a fire hazard though; if all those electrical plugs are located in your humid grow tent, it's quite possible to cause some issues down the line. Worth taking a second look at.

Agreed, this is a problem I see with a lot of grow operations. The humidification equipment should be located outside the grow room, with the humidified air getting ducted in.

This setup looked similar to what Fox Farm & Forage out of NC use to do years ago on youtube. I don't think they are on youtube anymore but they are proactive locally. I think they stopped buckets and went to bags like most commercial growers are doing now.

Amazing, but how she control contamination ? It's hard to see on the buckets. I loved the video

Should add that you grow plastic free in the title, i rarely see people who do it, great video! 🍄👍

You can purchase warm weather varieties of oysters which will be better suited to your climate. If your humidification system was high pressure water misters , in place of a pond fogger, the mass of water vapor entering the grow space will be more than enough to keep things cool and humid. You'd need a drain though, as it's a wetter process.

It's pretty impossible using this method in the SW as the air is just too dry. I had success putting my bucket in larger container and putting a layer of water in the bottom for moisture.
@mrmaxcarter23062 жыл бұрын
You can add a bag over the bucket and most it regularly. It'll stay more humid that way

I'm no expert but I've seen way bigger oysters in other farms. Are they purposedly picking them up young or they're not growing much more, by whatever reason? Love their approach though

You won't see very large yields with a straw substrate, these guys do best on hardwoods
@0blivvy82 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was wondering that too, I've seen huge sizes and yields from grow bags.

How can i water the mushrooms? I could use groundwater from my garden but it contains a lot of iron, is that bad?
@moonbulletreaper83773 жыл бұрын
No you don't water them. The water is already absorbed in the substrate. You will need to spray the bucket or container to keep the humidity up but you want the temperature on the cooler side. Most use a 3 disc mist maker or larger in a greenhouse tent or hydroponic tent.
