Carp are considered an invasive species here in Australia. The law in Victoria requires us to dispatch any carp caught. Releasing carp we can have heavy fines up to $10,000

For carp, double the length of your rod in heavy leader. Will help when you get them to the bank. Carp get skittish when they see you and try run before you can land them. The leader will ensure you have a strong bit of line to horse them. Also play the carp if you bring them in ultra slow they will stay under the water and be calm when they get close

I was using 8lb leader in this video because I didn’t want to waste 2m of line. I usually like to use 4-6lb because it’s a bit more challenging haha.

@@SinghFishing 8lb is great. I all my reels except one are all spooled up with 8lb. It reminds me to play the fish slowly and let the drag do its job and tire them out. But always a 30lb leader. I am normally casting big distances in my pursuit of carp. So the shock that a strong leader can take is a bonus. Plus the confidence it gives me when I am netting them and I have strong leader all the way to my trace. First video of yours that I have seen but expect me in the comments section of others

@@SinghFishing a thought just occured to me. Flourocene powder. Its a plumbing supply used to trace pipe leaks. Glows a flourescent green or red. Carp feed by disrupting the bottom layer of mud looking for food. Other carp know this and are attracted to the cloud they make thinking food is exposed. The flourocene creates such a cloud and the contrasting colour is attractive and lets them take note.

Hey! I'm from the south east side. It really depends on how they're feeding on the day. Somedays they bite more on worms and somedays they bite corn more. I would say use corn for Carp its cheap and it works extremely well. But worms are great because it expands your ability to catch a range of different species like Redfin or Eels too.
