On the 8th of March, 2022, McDonald’s Corporation closed the doors of all of their restaurants in Russia for Russian customers. However, already in 3 months after that, on the 12th of June, 2022, all 850 McDonald’s restaurants in Russia, developed since 1990, started to re-open under a new name “Vkusno i Tochka” (Tasty and Period).

As an American, I have to say that those restaurants look clean, safe and very classy compared to any old McDonald's here. And that BIg Special seems to be made of beef and cheese, not an old tire ! I can't believe how big and well decorated that place is, like a real restaurant and not just a fast food dump. Why would anyone want to sell it back to McDonald's, other than the profit. As a customer I'd want it to stay the way it is. BTW, it's Springtime and Sergey's hair is free again

McDonald's closing is no big loss. I don't eat there cuz their food sucks. Their hamburgers don't taste like real hamburgers. There is a Russian lady here that has a restaurant with the best food I have ever tasted and you get alot at a good price. Her restaurant is always packed every day and I can see why.

I am happy for you. Screw McDonalds for they have become the symbol of pure greed in America. I made them my last resort (very rare)because they take the majority of local money to Chicago and take advantage of the workers. When few people would work for them they would bring in outside workers. Many poor people used to eat there for undercut prices but now they can’t afford the current prices. The McDonald's in Moscow was open by the end of June 1990 as my group ate there; becoming their first "drive thru" customers (they prepped bagged meals and brought them on our bus for us). We met with the *Canadian* franchisee owner then as well. Not sure if it was eventually sold to US or Russian ownership. But it was not from the US when it started.

I've basically stopped eating at McDonald's or BurgerKing. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, I don't think the food is that healthy and secondly, the burgers here in Turkey are the worst that I have ever eaten at McDonalds and Burgerking in other countries when I was younger. Maybe you know the movie "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas, when he went to a burger joint and "criticized" the look of the burger. I had the same experience back then and it was also overpriced.
