I've not tried either. But was once in a Burger King late at night when an irate customer came in. He'd just bought a "Big King" and was back to complain how small it was. "Yes Sir. The Big King is actually our smallest burger" they explained. "Well what's your biggest burger" he demanded. "That would be the Double Whopper" they said, "no" says another worker, "the biggest is the TRIPLE WHOPPER but it's not on the menu, you just have to ask for it". There was then some discussion before they revealed you can even have a QUADRUPLE WHOPPER, or infact any number of patties on your whopper, you just pay a set amount for each extra patty. I felt I'd been admitted to some sort of Secret Restricted Burger King Obesity club that wonderful day! They're definitely better than McDonalds. Although our local one never seems to have anything ready and the drive through involves a 20 minute wait in the car park every time. At least thats time to watch another Greeno Eats episode though.

Here in Australia Burger King is called Hungry Jacks and they have a burger called a Mega Jack which is basically a Big Mac but a lot larger than the McD version

I always go for the double quaterpounder burgers at MacDonalds as they are bigger than the normal burgers so gives something more substantial. McDonalds bacon, underdone and tissue thin, unlike the bacon in their breakfast menu which is actual proper back bacon, if only they used that in their burgers or instead make it actually crispy.

Oh they do use decent bacon for the breakfasts? I have never tried it as I assumed it would be the same garbage that goes on the burgers (plus the sausage and egg McMuffin is unrivalled surely?)

Yeah, for me it's the sauce that makes a Big Mac - I am not sure that adding more beef, or even the bacon really improved it that much. Why mess with a classic !!! I appreciate the kind words about the channel :-)

Agree about the bacon, just not worth paying extra for. Big Tasty and Fillet o Fish are my favourites. If we had an out of town Burger King I'd go there more often than McD's but we've only got one on the High Street with no parking or free parking I should say!

I used to love bacon double cheeseburgers and back in the day (early 2000s), they were sometimes on offer at 2 for 2quid. I thought they had disappeared. I loved them. I live in South Korea and I find that Burger King is much more expensive but I would prefer a Whopper over a Big Mac. I also prefer Burger King's fries. I like your videos, watched a few now. The beefy taste of BK’s chargrilled burgers nearly always wins out for me. However, you pay a small premium. I do think McDonalds has improved since they modified their entire production ethos earlier in the year - buns etc Great shows Greeno!

Thanks for the positive comment - I am glad you enjoyed the content. For me, flavour-wise BK almost always wins, but I think with the bacon double cheeseburger, the lack of sauce is a real error... a squirt of mustard and ketchup would elevate it.

Personally I’m more into BK however as you said BK is fairly pricey. Also a bit more bland. However despite it being more bland I do prefer it. I think BK fries are nicer and the burger patty’s are better quality McDonald’s is okay however definitely the burgers or sandwich’s whatever we intend to call them is made purely from the sauces. If you took the sauces out of McDonald’s I think it’s a very easy W for BK. How I rank major 3 fast food chains it’s got to be 1) KFC 2) Burger King 3) McDonald’s However if you do it based on value for money I’d say McDonald’s wins this. It’d literally be a reverse flip of that order

Ages since I had a burger at either of these restaurants. I remember we went to Budapest, Hungary, some years ago. It was late when we finally got settled and we just wanted a quick meal. Burger King was the first place we found. Now we'd have BKs in the UK and they were dreadful. Badly assembled and the buns and everything was cr@p. So we entered this place in Budapest with some trepidation. Holy tamoly, it was great! The burgers served were really like those in the photos, nice and fluffy with everything where it should be and they tasted GREAT! So much so, we went again a couple of days later for a quick lunch. Sadly, the Brits I don't think care about service, flavour, presentation everything. Chuck it in a bag and the gullible public with eat it and come back for more.

Today, just tried that new Heinz Tomato and Bacon sauce. Smokey at first then the tomato taste but the bacon cuts right through with flavour. Proper hotdog or full English breakfast sauce.

Again agree with everything you say. BK you can bespoke order extra patties. I was working in London and went to Victoria train station and had a double whopper with 6 patties! You truly had to eat it with knife and fork but very moorish and tasty! 👍

I'm happy to say that I've never eaten a McDonald's in my life, just does not appeal to me in the slightest, I prefer to buy good quality meat and make my own mince for burgers when I'm in the mood for some. I do find as I get older that I'm eating more vegetarian meals these days what with the price of red meat as it is.

Its always good to see different fast foods and compare them to what we get here in NZ . . At Mcds we can add bacon to any burger . . At the moment one promotion is a 1/4pounder with bacon and "krispy onions and bbq sauce . . Its ok . . Have you tried a double 1/4pounder . . Yumm . But . . Ya need to eat it in mcds car park lol once it starts to cool the harder it is to eat . . The Double Big Macs were quite good when they first introduced them, you also could get an extra pot of the big mac special sauce which you cant now. I even asked for it and they said nope, dont sell it, there's enough on the burger as it comes. I did say in another video that I've pretty much stopped going to Maccy's but I did partake yesterday and ordered a double big mac meal ( without bacon ) ...it was actually a half decent temperature which surprised me !! Oh, and the fries were hot, I did go at around 1230pm so maybe the food was being sold quicker rather than sitting around going cold.

The only reason why adults still eat McDonalds is we were all hooked on it as a child, every now and then you have a craving for the carbs, sugar and salt in a McDonalds meal ... I view their food merely like an unhealthy snack, and their burgers are not filling at all ... for the high prices they are and calories they contain. Five guys is possibly the only safe & consistent American fast food outlet to enjoy a real burger from.

That’s in the edit I’m afraid - got a few complaints about eating noise, so in between talking I reduced the volume. It’s a minefield because certain audio things are more noticeable depending on what audio settings the viewer has, whether it’s through headphones or not. Hard to get it right for everyone 😂

Generally I think the salad in BK is fresher, and better quality. McD's is often limp as you say. But in this review there was no salad, or sauce even in the BK burger, which was disappointing!

I agree with you regarding the price of the Burger King , at £2.99 acceptable, at £5.29 a rip off. The fake 'smoked' spray that is used on 'bacon' is disgusting. I bought some bacon with rind on and smoked. I was really looking forward to it. When I began grilling it the smokey smell was overwhelming. The rind did not 'bubble up' and remained as it was uncooked. I tried one bite and in the bin it went. I gave the remaining uncooked slices to a bacon junky up the street. He liked it. 🤮 The price of the Macdonald's burger is expensive too. I feel for families with three youngsters who want a burger from either company. It's a lot to pay out. But gone are the days when you went off to the park with your lettuce butties and if you were lucky a bit of tomato on too! Bought some Artisan white bread from a tiny hut in Rawtenstall last week. It was £3 but it was heavy and definitely a family of five size of loaf. Smelt like bread used to. It wasn't from the Mannings bakery it was just another one man bakery. There was too much for me so shared that with a neighbour and when it had dried out I made croutons in olive oil and garlic granules and parsley and basil. Got plenty left but they were great in a Heritage Tomato salad. Those tomatoes are so tasty, purple ones, green ones, yellow ones etc. all in wonky shapes. Anyway see you in the next one. 👍

It's hard to get good bacon - if buying cheaper bacon I tend to get unsmoked as that artificial smoke flavour is pretty unpleasant. I'm a big fan of making croutons. One evening a week I am normally in a local Tesco when the bread is being reduced (as I showed on the ploughman's video) - whatever doesn't get used is always made into croutons to use in homemade soups or salads. And a simple tomato salad if a perfect way to use them - a good dash of salt and pepper, some fresh herb and a drizzle of oil and away you go, what a delight!!

@@GreenoEats It is indeed a delight to have tomatoes and croutons. Although everything tastes better abroad. Off to Lidl tomorrow to see if they have any fresh pesto. Now that was good. I have tried a few times to make it myself but it always has a little bitterness to it. I buy that Jason's bread in Tesco. It's just a few ingredients in it and is sourdough. I buy reduced stuff for the birds. Tesco do some really good price drops. Bought a Charlie Bingham's Roasted cauliflower and paneer curry for two the other week. Should have been £7.50 reduced to £2.15. It was okish and only fed one! Glad I didn't pay full price. That's what I like about yellow stickers because you can try something you wouldn't dream of paying full price and not feel bad if it was rubbish. Let us all know if you come across bacon that tastes like bacon and not salt and fake flavours. Enjoy the school holidays! 👍

Ahhhh mate, that Bacon Double Big Mac burger looked rather sad-but glad it didn't taste crap for you/least the BK burger looked like a proper burger should be done I would say but the price is well overpriced...... I had th is one in Kent and the burgers were well done + the bacon was crispy as well-all depend on the people cooking it.... Welcome to the channel 🙂I have spent some time in Kent over the years, during my university years my then girlfriend loved in Canterbury, so I was there a lot, plus been to Gillingham for football many times. Not been for a while though… We do quite enjoy water parks, especially the kids… these days I might end up blocking the flume on the way down ha ha!

@@mikekaraoke we have Splashdown near to us, and been to a couple in France that I can't recall the name of. Theme parks are not my favourite, although as a family we have done Chessington multiple times and Legoland, Thorpe Park and Paultons Park too

@@GreenoEats Yeah the classic Splashdown in Poole! That was only shown on TV a few weeks back on Homes Under the Hammer-did you watch it?? Even though I do like Legoland Windsor, I really do miss it when it used to be Windsor Safari Park...... They have some really good Waterparks in France. In what way are Theme Parks not one of your fav things to do?? One of my fav theme parks not just in Europe but the world is Efteling in Holland. Sure you know of it but have you ever been?? been mentioned in UK a number of times over the decades as well If for whatever reason you haven't: the rides/areas reflect elements from ancient myths, legends, fairy tales, fables, + folklore. I mean The Fairytale Forest alone would take you 3/4 hours to walk around! 😀

I went to McDonald's last week and if you have the app you get a free birthday doughnut when you spend £4 the doughnut is really good and I would try the garlic bread bites out it's like eating garlic bread in taste 🤤

I don't think a BK double cheeseburger can be compared to a Maccies double Big Mac. Whopper is the compettor to Whopper. , I would compare BK double cheeseburger (with bacon or without) to a Maccies double cheeseburger (with or without bacon).

I'm with you Greeno always preferred Burger King! They do really use beef I believe, never quite worked out what animal McD's "burgers" come from? Had a 5.99 meal deal from BK on Sunday, I think it was supposed to be bacon bits in it, they have the advertising poster up at Somerford! That was tasty but like you say they have a lack of salad, but there was some sort of sauce, also I received a far bigger portion than normal of their fries, which are another superior thing! Must of been a newbie on the fryer? I would of only got that BK you had if paying £2.99. I wouldn't in all honesty of got that McD's thing if it had been £1.99!

XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger is my go-to burger at BurgerKing. The burgers knock Macky Ds out of the water. That said, Macky Ds breakfasts are better than BK’s.

M8. I watched this vid simply for its entertainment value since I would rather have a double lobotomy than eating either of those. I do remember the VERY last ime I had a McD and I vowed from that day on I would rather starve than eating one again. And that, for me, goes for any such stuff regardless. Kids love them and I must congrat the firms for their influence but, generally, I would hope that these grow up and learn to appreciate real food. Yeah. I know. Fat chance.

Im not with you i don t like Mc donald burgers. I do enjoy a burger king burger. I only eat fish sandwich at mc donalds i order it with tarter on the side so they make it fresh if you don t you take. The chance of it being under heat lamp for a long time

That's the key to getting good things at McD, BK etc.... always make a small customisation... I normally ask for no onions, sometimes double mustard or pickles. Like you say, you know you're getting a fresh burger that way :-)

One of the 3 Burger kings in my city has closed and is now a new Popeye 's fried chicken. Not tried that yet. My local burger king sited on the edge of the city is as always empty vs the McDonald's directly opposite which is always busy. Don't know how burger king stay in business? 5 McDonald's around me vs just the 2 burger burger king says it all.

That's interesting. I think McD are aimed more at kids than BK are, which affects the kind of clientele they get, and how busy they are. I've also not yet tried a Popeyes, let me know if you do, whether it's worth me going to find one to review :-)

I love McDonald's; it is my favourite burger takeaway, but I despair. I cannot honestly remember the last time, they actually came out with a genuinely new item. They just keep re-hashing the same old stuff over and over. We all know the Big Mac has been around forever and at least for a few years or more, electing to add bacon to it has been a well known option. So there is nothing new here at all. McDonald's is supposedly celebrating their 50th anniversary/birthday this year and what have they done? Added bacon to their Double Big Mac, and brought out the McCrispy Chicken burger (again). I am so disappointed. They could have made a little effort by bringing out something actually new like a new burger, but alas, they seem to have no imagination at all. On a price point and value for money, I would favour the Double Quarter Pounder over the Double Big Mac. The Double Quarter Pounder seems far more filling to me. I do not like Burger King, but at least their new items are in fact new.

Personally speaking Greeno... I no longer buy either the McDonald's Burgers... Or the Burger King Burgers mate... Both of these respective fast food Burgers have become much smaller in size over the years... And the prices of both Burgers have gone through the roof too... Although the app price of the Burger King Bacon Double Cheeseburger was much more reasonable mate... However Greeno... I'd be quite interested to know if there are any limitations imposed on the Burger King app... As to how many of their Bacon Double Cheeseburgers you can buy in any single transaction my friend... Because buying more than one Burger in one go at the discounted app price... Would mean that you can save a huge amount of money... When buying several Burgers for the whole family to enjoy. My local takeaway though... Makes some incredibly priced Burgers that would put both of these two to shame pal... Their Flame Grilled Burger Patties are much bigger... They're always juicy and they're always served with fresh salad... And a soft fresh Burger Bun... There are many combinations of Burgers that they offer... And you can even build your own Burger... With anything else that they have available too... Extra Burger Patties are charged at one pound each... So if you want to add on an extra five Burger Patties... Then you can!... You can literally have anything you like... And in any quantities your heart desires too... Including my absolute favourite Doner Kebab Burger... 😋 🍔 Many thanks for the video Greeno... Your local takeaway sounds great !! As for the BK app - it does say that you can only use one offer per transaction. However, as far as I can work out there are no limitations to the amount of transactions you can make. So it's a bit of a faff, but I reckon you could make 4 seperate orders and get 4 deals.

Then it's okay to circle back around to the back of the (hopefully short queue) and make the necessary transactions you need to feed your family... I'm not sure about McDonald's in the UK but here in the States the quarter pounder with cheese is the only burger that they cook when you order it. I'm not sure why but they make their burgers so salty, so I order it w/o seasoning. Burger King is simply vile. They completely drench their burgers in mayonnaise. And for fast food prices these days, I'd rather get a great burger from a mom n pop shop for about the same price.

McD do salt their burgers here, but not excessively so. Don't know if they cook the QP to order, it's a thicker patty so maybe they have to. You're right though, if you can find a decent burger at a local place for similar money then makes sense to support them rather than making some corporate bods richer!
