Love the review mate. My biggest HJ vs Maccas in a nutshell. Whopper vs Big mac = Whopper Nuggets - Maccas Chips - HJ Coffee - I think Maccas do a great coffee. But the old breakfast burger. I love a bacon sausage Mc Muffin. But you do you Boo Boo.

Sausage and egg for me. I only found out by accident. I used to always get bacon and egg and they stuffed up and gave me sausage and egg. We were travelling, so I ate it. WAAAAYYYYY better than the bacon and egg, especially if it's fresh. My husband is a shift worker, he'll go to Maccas on his way to work on a morning shift. The only reason he doesn't go to HJ's is because they don't open until 6am. He starts at 6am!

IMO Maccas add more artificial flavours, salt and sugar, compared to HJs. Their burgers etc have a more natural taste like what you’d get at a takeaway place.

Should be called "breakfast cr*p deals" since all these big chain scabs are being just that, fkn huge scabs. God I remember back in the mid 90's u could get a small coffee, hash brown and a mcmuffin for $4.95. Now that was a deal and the muffins were bit bigger as in 4 bites not 2 like today..

In 1995 $1 is worth $2.08 today. Called inflation. Maccas burgers getting smaller has proven to be false many times over. People today are just more overweight and expect to eat more.

happy brekky time 2aussie sir! I used to hit the maccas often for quick coffee and macaron on the way to work. it was good for daily caffeine and sugar intake. i tried mcmuffin once and it was not for me at all.. hope there is another hearty brekky option on breakfast menu in future. i would stop by maccas more often with my happy buckaroonies!

My Maccas app has been giving “$4 for McMuffin and small hot drink” which is a pretty good deal . The brekkie menu and hot drinks are definitely better at Maccas with that barista style taste compared to the watered down coffee versions at HJ. However, for burgers.. the whopper wins hands down .
