I Actually read an article a couple days ago that police in Kentucky are going through drive throughs for truck drivers.

Tuff times Mike. They should make a exception for truckers. Our fast foods are closed for 3 weeks. No inside eating or drive in. All restaurants closed of any kind. Kids are home for going on 5 weeks. We can only leave the house to buy groceries at my nearest town. My province had over 650 dead in the last 24 hours. Tough times. Mike thanks for your service. I appreciate the people still out there trying to keep the shelves stocked.

Perhaps ask " how are your store supplies delivered? By truck right. Well I am one of those truckers and parked over there in that BIG RIG which can't go through a drive thru ". Next if not served ... GET YOUR MANAGER!

In a March 23 open letter, McDonald’s Senior Vice President of Operations Bill Garrett discussed the new ordering system and pledged to support U.S. truckers as they deliver needed goods during the Coronavirus crisis. Many restaurants, including McDonald’s, across the country have closed dine-in options to try to slow the spread of Coronavirus and are encouraging customers to use the drive-thru instead. For truckers, thought, drive-thru is impossible in almost all locations simply because their vehicles won’t fit. At locations where you aren’t allowed to dine-in, McDonald’s is encouraging truckers to use the following procedures at participating locations: Use McDonald’s Mobile Order & Pay app, when you arrive at the restaurant Select Curbside Service and walk to the designated Trucker curbside sign on the sidewalk outside our designated door Complete your order by entering the appropriate Trucker curbside number and we’ll bring your order to you at the designated door as soon as it’s ready.

That’s standard for most drive-thrus from what I have seen. Has been that way for as long as I can remember. I assume it is a safety issue to avoid pedestrian being hit by automobiles. Sure doesn’t help during a pandemic when everything is closed though.

Ask for the manager. Ask them how much is the order, pay, then they can set it outside the door or drive-up window. Tell them you'll stand way back! It overkill, of course, but, we just have to figure a solution around it and not take it personal. I was in a mid-FL McDonald's 1 hour ago. the seating is all roped off but you can order (maintaining social distancing) get your order, and go. I did. My best, Mike!

Holy shit Mike...........never thought of this predicament. It's a common safety policy at most drive-thrus but in our world, you can't take a 78' long vehicle through a drive-thru. Really glad I carry my own food stuffs. I realize though that there are many truckers out there that do not have the gear onboard to be self-sufficient. Your experience with the constable in Kamloops does show that there are places where people aren't afraid to exercise a little common sense. I'm curious.....when did you switch from HEAVY HAUL?👍👍👍

Mike, the same thing happened to me in Rosedale MD. And I used a shopping cart to fool the sensor, put in my order. It seemed to work until they noticed I was on foot. They refused me service. I assumed my order went in the trash. I'm not a Trucker.
