You miss the reconstituted onion added during the cooking process. The meat gave some flavor to the bread since even though it was drained by hand during the process of removing the meat from the grill, and tended to melt the cheese a bit as well. The toasters come close to the three section toasters that were used 40 years ago, but just not quite the same.

You can do that. Here's the cheapest way without being upcharged for Quarter patties. Order a Double Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese, then: No Mustard No Ketchup No Slivered Onions Add Mac Sauce Add Shredded Lettuce Sub Mac Bun for Quarter Bun Have the manager tell the line cook to assemble it as if he's making a Big Mac. If he makes it correctly, you should also get an extra slice of cheese because the Double Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese has 2 slices. I just tell them to put both slices together so your cheese is extra thick :) This is the cheapest way to hack this.

Not sure about the patties being in some sort of warming tray. When I worked at McD’s (in the UK) all beef burgers were assembled straight from the grill - hamburgers, cheeseburgers, Big Mac’s, 1/4 pounders. The only things kept in a warming tray were the stuff that took ages to fry - chicken sandwiches, nuggets, filet o’ fish, veg patties. Burgers took about 90 seconds so much easier to slap some down on the grill and cook while the bun was assembled. It was, I remember thinking at the time, the worst job in the world. But I’ve had a few worse since. The fact that the majority of the staff were teens and students made for good kitchen camaraderie and some excellent nights out. Being on tills, on the other hand….let’s just say you saw all human life.

My favorite part of making the big macs was using the mac sauce clicker, the click is such a satisfying piece of asmr artwork and the scrumptious vibration send through your pulsing nervous system when you feel the signal of touch and vibration traveling the highway of nerves to your brain is quite uncontended to that of other signals of touch. Now can i please get Morgan Freeman to narrate my comment?

something ive always wondered. why is it each sandwich/item has a different wrapper? and why do things like a big mac go into a box instead of just being wrapped?
@NearCrisis2 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing premium item. Plus, it will be presented better when taken out of the bag. It's protected from being smashed up.
@random199110042 жыл бұрын
Not all of them. Some wrappers are for two or four things (see breakfast, the wraps have four different labels, one in each quarter). Not really sure why they have boxes for the larger burgers instead of just wrapping them all. I assume a wrap would be cheaper than a box.
@SEliteGuitarist992 жыл бұрын
Some wrappers are used for different items, and the only difference was what the outside said once it was wrapped. The people making the sandwiches aren't the ones bagging so it's easier for them to see what exactly they are grabbing or what they need to send the order out. As for boxes, premium item and it would be a huge hassle to wrap that much sandwich.

So they don't get confused which is which. Makes it easier and faster for them to identify and bag the orders.
@Aviciifi2 жыл бұрын
because the big mac is a more larger and complex burger than a cheeseburger or a mcchicken so it gets served in a box so that it can stay intact and avoid getting smushed. the different wrappers are for different items because there are many sandwiches and the four corners on a wrapper arent enough to label each sandwich

That toaster is annoying. The one I had at my store had two slots, one for the crown, and the other for the middle (for mac) and heel. Toasting could be faster.

Was thinking that. The store I used to work at had that model too, perfect for any kind of bun, you didn't have to manually seperate the halves, you just pushed the bun over sort of a blade which would seperate the halves and sent them down the "rapid hole". BUT we still had to use the old school flatbed Big Mac toaster for the Big Mac buns, so there's that lol

Worked back in 2008 and everything still looks the same, pulling out the meats tray too quick and getting the grease splash, trying to perfectly flip the steamed buns for filets into their containers. The one thing thats missing is the burger slide/launch down the counter after its done lol

I used to have this job as a McDonald's cook back in 2012 and put 14 nuggets in the 10-piece orders whenever a customer ordered one. I miss that job so much. I was an employee for the people!
