I am so happy with this guy, he has a couple issues (especially not being able to look up) but he absolutely pops sitting on the shelf. The colors look so great, and he looks very powerful. Getting him with the flight stand and the trading card made getting him feel a little more special than the average $20 action figure purchase. I don't even mind the stand, the way the arm sits kinda pushes his cape back a bit to make it look like it's billowing out which I think is a good look. But yeah it doesn't give you many options. I also really enjoy how much McFarlane tries to tie the figures into the comics, making it clear exactly what each figure is drawing from. Really looking forward to seeing what else this line holds, this is just so much better than Mattel and DC Essentials and I get the feeling it's just gonna get better. Also your pics with him posing with the trading card made me lol, that was pretty good

Saw it in stores. Great paint, but it's a better choice for new collectors. It's so massive that it won't fit in well with my existing lines. Even the DC Direct stuff.

My biggest flaws of this figure is it's accessories like it has one fist hand which suppose to have two fist hands. Maybe a McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Shazam or Black Adam will do.

Found him at Target (US) however the second I took him to the counter they couldn't sell him to me till the 19th. I completely understood and was disappointed but my wife was pissed. XD

I think these are going to become the next DCUC. That line didn’t start out perfect either, but it produced TONS of great figures. But, I don’t see both this line and Essentials existing at same time since they are basically competing directly with each other.

His leg popped off on me after opening and testing the stiff articulation. I popped it back on a few times but to no avail as it would just come off. I finally just broke it apart and threw it in the trash. McFarlane needs to step up quality here.

Damn that sucks but im not surprised. I usually put new dc collectible figures with stiff joints in warm water before moving. Seems like mcfarlane figs need same

You know I am really torn on this figure. I love that he has a bulkier build than the DC Essentials Superman! But, the bottom edge of that upper torso is really distracting! At times, because of the shadow cast by this oddly cut edge, it looks like he has a hole in the center of his diaphram, just above his abs. Flight pose goes to DC ESSENTIALS hands down, but I actually like the wider cape and sculpted “S” on McFarlane’s Superman as well as the darker blue of his uniform. I really want to like this figure, but the lack of double jointed elbows, limited head tilt for flight poses, and that weird torso cut, and the blue ball joint for the wrists that stick out past the sleeve cuffs just kill it for me.

Lamar Newton same here. I think I will defintely get the Batman who laughs because , well it’s him. Batgirl looks ok, but her face looks like a 12 year old. The Hellbat armor looks sweet!

Gotta be honest, don't like that they changed the scale for Multiverse. 7 inch figures aren't bad, but I'm still upset that they replaced a 6 inch line with a 7 inch line.

Well said. Mine had an issue with the arm being tough to move, so be careful. I'm holding out for the Arrowverse figures. Please please I want a Tyler Hoechlin Superman. If McFarlane gets into those I'll probably exclusively collect those.

I saw him at a Seattle Target the other night for $23.99. He looked incredible! I don't buy new figures too often, but man, I don't think I've ever come across a more perfect Superman! The only reason I didn't end up buying him was because the line was soooooo long! :( But I'm definitely going to get him. Great review! This made me want him so much more. :D

I love him. A few minor qualms like the single joint elbows and no S on the cape but very minor. One question though. What is that recipe for that Supergirl? At least the head. Would love more custom kitbashes featuring figures other than The Worlds Finest.

Firstly let me say thanks for such a detailed review, it gave all the information needed to make a decision whether or not to purchase this line. For me, the 7” scale is a killer, I have too many 6” figures to change now. It’s not something I will be collecting and,to be honest the figure has too many faults even if he’d made it in scale with DCUC, I wouldn’t have purchased it. My understanding is that he’s been given the licence to produce an adult collectible line. Obviously, for him that means, aged 18-25 years old. If you’re hoping for anything from the Golden, Silver and Bronze ages, you may have a long wait. He as good as said so in his interview with JC over at TNI where hinted at the fact that the market for such classic figures wouldn’t be large enough. I thought that was the whole idea of a niche product that would be produced in smaller numbers but at a premium price. At least I’ll be saving money going forward - despite being a DC fan, going forward I’ll be buying Marvel Legends and making my own customs to fill the gaps in my DCUC collection. Again, great review Brad, it’s just not for me.😟

I love the oversized "S" on the chest, the best part imo. You're right the cape sucks. I gotta admit tho the legs look kinda funny to me. They look to bowed at the bottom so not feeling that.

Great review! I love the way he scales with some of the essentials figures. (I think essentials work best if you only have a few so you can’t tell everyone has the same body). Your kitbash Wonder Woman and supergirl look great btw. Have this guy on preorder. Can’t wait to get him.

I actually really like solid sculpted capes. The neck area does bother me though. I'd also say, though, that when they do sculpted capes, I think they should include two. Maybe one sculpt "standing" and another sculpt "flying" I'm honestly shocked at the quality of the articulation on the line.

Brad, have you discovered that the floating butterfly pieces are installed backwards? It’s on all figures that I’ve had and have seen reviewed. You have to pop out the arms at the shoulder, it pops out easily but heat will help. Flip the floating piece. Put arm back in. I haven’t seen any reviewer figure this out. It closed the gap around the shoulders and makes the range of movement better at the butterfly joints. If you try it and agree then you should do a video. Like I said, no one has pointed it out yet.

I agree with this. It really improve the overall look of the figure. Can be seen easily if compared to the 2 pack superman with the devastator since that one the install the butterfly pieces the correct way.

I really have mixed feelings on this one... I payed 35$ due to shipping costs to Europe form US and I'm kinda underwhelmed. I like the head sculpt (looks like a man not a boy, stoic, chiseled and i got one that is precisely painted), the S shield (it stands out, its big and i like the metallic paint on it - though mine has a bit of a color smudge on the bottom spike of the symbol(noticeable if you really look at it)), the trunks, bulky build but the skinny legs, over-sized ball-joints in the wrists and ankles, trigger finger hand, the cape is too big for my taste (but to be fair on that image the cape could be any length it looks long even there). I don't know, it could have been better with slight improvements. Ill probably keep him till something better is available... it was almost there but failed for me. P.S. mafex are not an option for me because it would cost me 150$ per figure

Here's what I do with my action figures now. If it's a male character I'll get a mcfarlane action figure. And if it's a female character I'll get a Mattel figure. The height just works better for me I think.

One thing, re: scale. Your headswap stuff is great (wonder what Mezco head would look like?) but one thing I've wondered about is hands? I'm a bit miffed he doesn't have stretched out flying hands, and wondered if a 'normal' 6in scale set of hands might work or not. Looking forward to more reviews of McFarlane stuff!

The wrist pegs not matching the flesh tone of Supes hands is a disappointment and including a trigger hand instead of another fist, leaves me scratching my head. I hope that we progressively see a different look and better articulation for these DC figures as the year goes by.

The lack of a double elbow is probably the only big gripe I have, and even then, Bats has it, and he's probably someone who needs it more than Supes does. Also wish it could look up more, and I'd like a cloth cape more than a solid one, but I think for 20 bucks USD, this is pretty damn great.

Not going to lie, I'm mainly awaiting your review of the Batman Who Laughs, but this was a cool view to tide me over. PS, the flight stand isn't great, but if you factor in that it can grip a thigh as well as the waist, it's a tad more versatile than you showed. But yes, it's be nice if it had more pivot points.

I absolutely LOVE this Superman figure, he's not perfect but he's definitely a huge upgrade from anything that Mattel gave us, don't get me wrong. I did enjoy the Mattel superman figures but we really needed an upgrade and WOW! what an upgrade this figure is, I'm so happy with this figure, I love him and I'm so happy I got him. I'm only having one issue, I can't move the butterfly shoulders very well, I tried heating them up but that didn't do anything, am I the only one that's having this issue?

I am slowly being won over, the issues I have with them I still have though but I am easing up on them. I see they have the same issue Mattel had, either the legs look too small compared to the torso or like two different scale figures put together, like from waist down is from a smaller figure and waist up from a bigger figure.
