Honestly, I think single jointed arms are superior to double jointed ones. If done correctly, single joints can bend in just as much, but look way more pleasing aesthetically.

Something to note on that upcoming Flashpoint Phygital reissue, the boots are supposedly in a more translucent plastic to pair with the lightning accessories. If that's a deal-breaker for anyone, well you got the heads up from me. Otherwise it's definitely a figure I'm glad is seeing the light of day again.

I have given up on finding him. I spent hours and went to 5 Walmarts and couldn't find him. I have the original and the one from the devastator 2-pack. I am just happy I was able to get the Snyderverse wave with a proper Red Blue Superman and cloth cape.

I think that the Atomic Skull vs Superman 2pack Superman is the best of the action comics # 1000 Superman. It had a great color scheme and some slight tweaks to make it better than the original. I passed on this and pre-ordered the Christopher Reeve Superman.

Randomly found this release at Walmart and genuinely love this. Ive been rocking DC Classic Superman as my go-to Earth-1 Supes (mostly cause i really like the lighter blue and the head) but the darker blue also just works so well. Also, personally under normal lighting, i dont think that the Classic Superman head skintones clash too terribly much. Not a perfect match, but enough for me to use that head on this body

This figure is an outdated release fine for anyone who missed out years ago but an odd reuse. He doesn’t scale well with any of the other JLA team, Clark is taller than most but this fig is shorter than most. Not a good fit. As a solo Supes he’s okay but we STILL need a definitive Supes to add to the team. Still waiting Todd.

SUPERGOUT I actually prefer a nice big S emblem on Superman, to the point that the stretched-out look of the original never bothered me. Finally getting the symbol on the CAPE, however, balances things out I guess.

I swear McFarlane has some kind of vendetta against Superman. And even though I like the Hush Superman (probably one of the few who does), the skintone was really one of my major gripes. I’d have probably been more willing to get this Supes if those damn arms weren’t single jointed. Or if he wasn’t short compared to the other figures.

My action comics 1000 Superman snapped in half back in September while I was packing to move. So this is definitely on my list to pick up once I’ve moved to my new home. Hopefully by then there will be a Superman on the rebirth mold with the right blue for some limb swaps.

Dude. I absolutely HATE softgoods for capes/cloths. But the “S” on the cape (wrong though it may be) is wicked awesome. However, most of your reviews help me decide if I’m getting a figure or not: this one is a “if I find it yes. Not from eBay.” Keep ‘em coming friend!

I'm not a fan of cloth capes either, especially on smaller scale figures. The hems and stitching almost always look weird, and once the wire starts poking through the material it's game over.

@@LaskyMMA I really think it comes down to no softgoods(like jackets) look right on figures and I've never been disappointed by the plastic capes. The stitching being visible always throws me off. Black Series Endor Han Solo is my example of bad stitching and it looking "off"... I honestly have avoided all cloth capes but with McFarlane moving to the wire capes I won't have a choice. 🤷‍♂️

Just pull out the legs and slide it off. On rare occasion they are glued down, but otherwise it's pretty easy

I haven't tried it yet, but I did purchase a custom cape for my Val kilmer Batman so I am going to give it a shot. I expect that it's just going to be a matter of heating the neck piece enough until the glue is loose and then prying it off.

Can you do arm swaps with the TDKR Supes? Though it's still single-jointed, I think the arms look better than the ones we got here. Or perhaps Superman of Earth 3 from the Starro BAF wave? The blues look like a match. Great review by the way!

I picked mine up today. I like it.. It's an improvement over the other Superman figures they've been releasing lately, that's for sure. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the color scheme on the Black Adam Superman figure - it was a different shade of blue and I really like that they tried a new color palette - but the head sculpt and hair were just terrible. His face looked absolutely nothing like Superman!! Rosy cheeks?? C'mon McFarlane! That's not even considering how out of proportion the hands were. I really liked the Justice League Movie McFarlane figures but I could never find a red and blue suit Superman. I look for that and for Batman Blue Hush forever. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. it ain't perfect and the McFarlane quality has gone downhill. When they put out something really good you can never find it.

So close Todd. If he just used the Hush Superman as the baseline this could have been the definitive Superman figure in the line. Also, crap man he's so short. Like the Classic and Earth 2 Superman are so much taller. Well not THAT much taller but I am shocked how small this Superman in general is. I don't need Superman to be the biggest guy in the room but damn this one is just way too short. I'd say "Hey the Justice League Task Force one that's up for pre-order is the perfect body with a cloth cape" but then you realize it has that Video Game Cell Shading and the logo is digital and painted on. There is a leak list of figures that are supposed to be coming out, and one of them is a silver age Superman as part of the Phygital line. I have a feeling we'll be seeing this again with that, but maybe a different color scheme and a new head. I'm not holding out any hope for new joints though

I think they did it this way so that way they can paint different logos on the torso and use it for multiple different styles. The sculpted logo kind of locks you in to that one specific look, so this would add more versatility.

I read that in Henry Cavill's voice when Steppenwolf hit him with his ax in the Snyder Cut lol for real though I get it. I think it's one of those things where if you're not really a fan of the Action Comics 1000 Supes to start with these tweaks aren't really going to turn you around. They are improvements sure, but if you're put off by things like the proportions, the joints, or the articulation, they aren't the right improvements. So yeah, I can totally see not being into it
