Today I take a look at the new Color Tops 7" "Hamburgerhead" Spawn: Rebirth Toys R' Us exclusive figure from McFarlane Toys. The figure includes two weapons and a figure stand.

Hey Jay! the figure actually has a bicep swable. You can rotate his biceps spike bands, not 360 but it helps a little to hold the big gun in a better position.

Love this figure! I have both versions of the figure. Got them a few weeks back. So happy to see Spawn figures back on shelves.

I've always been intrigued by the way McFarlane is scared to change the style of the figures they make. I get some people like the statute type figures but imagine if they did the whole Spawn universe in 20-30 point articulation style. I fee like they wouldn't be able to keep those figures on the shelves because they'd sell so fast. I've heard people asking for that type of line for years and there's been no delivery.

Joseph Gonzales I don't think they even know how to put articulation in. He keeps talking about "you can have either great articulation or great detail but not both". Yet here are all these companies proving that wrong

Which is totally bullshit. It's like Todd forgot his toy team created and released very highly articulated figures, such as the Viking Age Spawn series. Have you seen those? I bought every single one and I remember how very articulated they all were and non of the articulation points destroyed the look of the figures. They hid the cut lines and ratchet joints real well. Todd is just cheap. It's more expensive to go the articulated way and he doesn't want to take that dive. It's how a businessman responds when he's already gaining cash from those who still buy into his static figures.. Why push it when you can get just as much with plastic statues?

Which is true. Like we see NECA have amazing figures in articulation, sculpt & paint, and accessories. And yet here is Todd, saying the same thing over and over again. I don't know why he doesn't just do one and see how it does. People would love it

Absolutely. There is so much potential there, but it's as if Todd doesn't see it anymore. He's afraid to take that gamble.

It looks good, but the older Spawn figures had metal chains, wish this did as well. With all the stuff I have on pre-order and other things I focus on, I think I'm good with the 3 Spawn pieces I have on top of my dresser cabin.

That's actually not true. Spawn figures (the majority of them in fact) did indeed have a decent count of articulation points. It was only the last few series that were made more like static statues and that occurred due to financial and creative restraints. Not arguing with you guys... just stating the facts. This is probably why some people aren't happy about another static figure. In fact, that goes the same for TWD fans who are very displeased with Todd's decision to abandon the smaller scale but highly articulated TWD action figures, for these preposed plastic statues in the color top series.

Microtron's Grid like I said spawn figures in the 90's to early 2000 had articulations, but the later ones are mostly statues, so my point was why are people bashing this figure like it's the first spawn figure to do so

Microtron's Grid don't get me wrong I love me a spawn with some good articulations, my favorite one being the collectors exclusive spawn 3 but I still think this is a decent spawn

Because people are special, entitled, snowflakes that think everything should be made exactly like they want it, instead of shopping around and buying what suits their needs. The majority of people bitching about the Color Tops line are Walking Dead fans that are pissed that the 5 inch line is pretty much done (With exception to exclusives). I love the 5 inch line of TWD figures and I love these equally. The 5 inch figures are highly accurate for figures of that size and have good articulation for the most part. The Color Tops are great because of the sculpts and detail and now it seems that he's adding more articulation as the line continues. The Carl Grimes Color Top is one of the best likenesses he's ever done. McFarlane's always bounced back and forth between articulated and non-articulated figures, he's created some legendary lines that are affordable throughout the years; Spawn, The Movie Maniacs line, countless game franchises, sports, The Walking Dead lines, etc. People don't really understand the quality they are getting is usually greater than the price tag. Similar companies charge you out the ass for about the same quality or less quality. Sorry for the long rant.

FrankW1029 um fully articulated? There's the Image 10th Anniversary Spawn, Necroplasm Spawn, Club Exclusive I.98 Spawn, and Toy Fair Pewter Spawn. All the same mold but all are great!

Wow, can't believe McFarlane is still trying to pass these as action figures. These are statues w' some useless articulation points. He should just call them sculptures and be done with it. Nice paint & sculpt, but this is the same stuff we saw 10 years ago.

Todd's toy company, has actually released some well articulated action figures in the past. Such as *Samurai Spawn*, the *Spawn 10th Anniversary* figure, the *Nitro Riders* and the entire *Viking Age Spawn* series, just to name a few. Only about 15% of the entire Spawn toy series, were static statues, with some swivel joints. The rest of the catalog, actually had standard articulation, you'd expect from any figure toy line in the 90s and early 2000s. So, to believe and accept that Todd's company never achieved, well articulated toys, is not accurate at all.

Shawn Williams dude Todd created both so they're inseparable. I'm also assuming your one of those bitchy Walking Dead fans, that aren't happy with anything that doesn't have at least 12 POA. Sorry this isn't Daryl Dixon version 12 with extra articulation so you can pose him as you please. This is a Spawn figure, so if you know anything about the history of these figures. You'd know that they've never been heavy on articulation. So if you want Spawn to change for the better, and your a hardcore Spawn fan show off your Spawn collection and link the video to this thread.

Again.. You're wrong. I still have nearly 400 of my Spawn figures and I can attest to the fact that most of them, were dominantly articulated, before they were plastic cast statues. Don't get me wrong though... I liked the statues too. But it would be nice to have a masterfully done, articulated Spawn figure, with at least 10 points, if not, a standard 12, without ruining the sculpt. The cape itself, could serve as a way to hide the shoulder ball joints. I personally think, it's a money issue. Business is always about the bottom line...

I very much agree. Not only that, the light blue color for the Spawn box, is a bit off putting. It should have been either black or red, instead.

Okay, right from the start. The statue is garbage. The boot NEVER came with the red stripes. More did the red gauntlet.

this figure is a huge let down! I expect better from McFarlane! such a bummer. do yourself a favour if you want spawn toys go hunt for the old ones. I've seen a review where the hand snaps off easily!

Impossible Pie that's why you heat up the figure to make the plastic soft when moving. Had to do that to get the guns in his hands. I've also had to heat up older Spawn figures to prevent breakage.

Professionally Unprofessional Reviews very true I've seen and heard about that tip for figures, haven't had to do it yet but that's good to know? do you have this figure? if so what do you think about it? I was really looking forward to it, even with the old Spawn toys having limited articulation I always thought they were well made and the detail was fantastic, but this new figure doesn't seem to the same standard as the old spawn toys.

Impossible Pie it's great! I bought 3, 2 of the masked version and 1 unmasked. I unfortunately had to heat up his hands to get the weapons in. But I'm not too concerned about that because I had to do that to a Tiffany figure from series 26 that I got brand new last week. So if you dont mind potentially having to fix the figure I'd say it's a must buy.

Toy Man 1976 guess you didn't buy Spawn in its heyday because not too many figures had great articulation especially as the line progressed.
