The Batman Who Laughs is easily the best figure in this wave so far. The sculpt, details and paint application are solid. The design of the character is very unique, interesting and creepy (in a good way). Otherwise, thanks as always Spot!

We kind of got an animated version of it but it was done much differently. In an animated batman TV show, “The Batman” (I believe) there was an whole episode where the joker made his own bat suit, sprayed the joker gas at Bruce and basically they swapped roles. Joker was being batman while Bruce was basically starting to turn into the Batman who laughs. I haven’t seen this show in a while though so I could be very wrong about this.

It might be edgy, I can't be sure but yeah. Batman quiet and intimidating nature combined with Joker part of the personality making death threat? Nah. But if it's an animated one then it might be really good.

Figures like The Batman Who Laughs and Arkham Asylum Batman/Joker are what got me into collecting DC Multiverse after months of avoiding them. Now they are my favourite line. Can’t wait to get more and I can’t wait for those new robins to pose them with this awesome figure!

I like that McFarlane included stands with these figures. Nothing fancy, but a nice inclusion considering how many companies exclude stands. The trading cards are nice too. The main thing they need to work on is accessories and maybe some articulation points.

An awesome review! I'm excited to have this new McFarlane figure arriving tomorrow from Entertainment Earth and like yourself I was immediately hooked on the character of the Batman Who Laughs aka BWL. This will be my first of the new DC Multiverse by McFarlane Toys and from the photos and videos I've seen of them they are quite impressive. The BWL's figure is really cool looking and has decent articulation and his minimal paint apps are nicely done. The 2 weapons have good looking blades but I agree that the handles are too thick and makes them stand out as toys. I don't care for the figures hands either they look like two globs of white plastic attached to his wrists in my opinion. I would have like a bit of sculpting to streamline the hands and painted with a dark wash to make them seem dirty and menacing like in the comics. But it is a nice touch that they added a simple stand and a bio card but the Build a Batmobile piece would have been much better as a Robin figure like you suggested. I hope they do eventually make a 3 pack of Robin figures sometime in the future. Your comparison to his outfit looking like something a Cenobite from Hellraiser would wear is spot on. Another similarity I noticed is how the BWL cowl/mask looks quite like Judge Death's headgear from the Judge Dredd comics. There's a couple Batman/Judge Death crossover stories with my favorite being titled "Die Laughing" a 2 issue story where the Joker gets transported to Mega City One in Judge Dredd's universe. Once there the Joker frees Judge Death and then teams up with him and the other Dark Judges for some fun and mischief if you haven't read it I highly recommend it. Otherwise thank you for the video review I really enjoyed it and have a great day. 😎👍

In my case, one of the best "recent" creations from DC Comics is First Born; from New 52 Wonder Woman. He has EVERYTHING: a cool design, a great story, someone that "comes from" Greek myth AND added a villain to Wonder Woman´s rogues gallery that she is truly lacking. I hope the character becomes forgotten.

Man I hope the other Dark Batmen get made in this line. So many idiots kept thinking was talking about the pops or statues. Been waiting on figures to pose and square off with others. Red Death, Murder Machine, The Drowned, the Lightbreaker(correct me), the Merciless, and the Devestator. The main ones from the Dark Knight METAL storyline. The last has to be larger than the others. Only thing missing are his creepy robins. The Batmobile I can see being used for a camera trick display of Batmobiles in the batcave.

Actual story is much creepier. Basically Joker kills all of Arkham, the GCPD and then starts making little monsters out of kids and Batman and him fight Batman snaps his neck releasing a gas right in Batmans face and he slowly starts losing it killing the bat family and the justice league as he grows madder and madder. Later joins Barbosa (not the pirate but a higher being of evil) and starts recruiting other Dark Batmen and well Dark Knight METAL has the deal.

Did you read the 1 off tie in about his origin? I think all the evil Batmen solo tie in are better than the Dark Nights Metal storyline. That one was a bit confusing by moment. The Tie ins about each of them is great. I Love the evil green lantern Batman. I also think that the run of Batman Who Laughs is better than the Dark Nights Metal.

Loved this nightmare version of batman. I have the batman #1000 and scorpion . Batman is by far the better figure, but I like them both. Should be able to get some pretty good photos out . Trying to get nightwing and this figure along with and couple others.

Surprisingly it's not actually an original design by DC. It's a rip of a Judge Dredd character from about 30 years ago called Judge Death. Definitely worth a Google to check the original it's based off of. 👍🏻
