McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse The Flash, Keaton Batman, Supergirl, and 1989 Batmobile

Today we review three of McFarlane Toys action figures based on the summer smash hit movie The Flash! These 7" scale DC Multiverse renditions of Michael Keaton reprising his iconic role as the original 1989 movie Batman, Sasha Calle as and alternate universe Supergirl, and Ezra Miller reprising his role as The FLASH look like they may just do the trick for kids and collectors alike!

There certainly seems to be more focus on Keaton and Calle than Miller in the marketing. Tho that might be due in part to recent controversy.

The Keaton suit feels to me what the suit *would have* looked like had there been another team up with Burton for Batman 3. A logical evolution. Same thing with the Batmobile. Remember how it was more or less mostly destroyed in Batman Returns. It seems to be rebuilt and tweaked like the suit which is why I'm not necessarily bothered by the differences...yet.

The circles on the wrists are actually glucose meter or something like that, I remember him saying the the has blood sugar on JL

I really liked the JL Flash costume, if they're gonna redesign it, go full blast. But on the other end of the spectrum, if you're going to make it look like the comics complete with sculpted muscles, go for it full blast, that's half why BvS Batfleck is my favorite. The figure is great but this whole half way thing doesn't work for me.

I have one on preorder from walmart but I just got another at gamestop, that one I am adding a wire to the cape and keep the other normal. The arms can go out but the shulder pad came off on mine but its just glued on so its an easy fix

I am 100% with you the belt should have been the same yellow gold from 89 and Returns it something very cool and unique about keaton Batman plus Neca release the keaton belt would have help to sell more unit !!!

Almost got Sasha’s name right Calle pronounced Ka’h - YE Calle is a spanish word that means street you can look up calle in some spanish video for pronunciation reference

Calle is pronounced: Ka ye. Double L in spanish is pronounced like a Y.

just picked up the flash figure I just wish that he had more hands but the figure is a lot better in hand then the promo pics and camera I the other figures I'm not picking up but the flash is pretty cool 😎

Very nice thorough review. I never care to collect any of the superhero movie figures (gotta draw the line somewhere to keep this hobby manageable 😅) but there's a lot of progress in these figures that I would like to be applied on the comic DC Multiverse figures, mainly regarding articulation. Aesthetically though, I see these have a bit of problems regarding the finish (whether matte or shiny) which are a bit inconsistent, i know that's not something 100% avoidable when working with different types of plastics, but hopefully it would look a little better in the future. And as I said I am not really drawn to the movie figures , the one exception for me is Keaton Batman because of my inner child fanboy, but those thick ears just put me off , and really I think it's a fair guess we will get another Keaton Batman figure from McFarlane toys down the line, specifically I'm rooting for a Batman Returns wave(I won't bother to dream on a Nicholson Joker because apparently he charges a crazy expensive likeness fee).

That Flash figure is hideous. It looks like gummy plastic. Maybe it's better in person, but everything I've seen online suggests otherwise.

Sigh. Even by McFarlane standards there are some seriously wonky sculpts in this wave. They even HAD an Affleck sculpt to work off and somehow, the Affleck Bats doesn't look like the guy. The proportions on 'Bat-Flash' are totally off and Dark Flash... ye gods. The sad thing is I love (finally) Barry's look in this movie and want to like the figure but oyyyyy he looks so weird.

Great review! The theory floating around w/the gray canopy is that its a separate component made as one semi clear mold in a different type of plastic. So when the gloss black was applied to a semi transparent plastic the end result is gray. In certain lights it doesn't appear as gray because the plastic is bouncing back the amount of light around it.

The belt from the Three Jokers Batman would look great on this Batman. As for that Flash, the figure is nice, but design of the costume is hideous.

The canopy doesn’t really bug me at all, it’s the fact that it’s not designed to fit two figures. It should of been a bit wider and longer to accommodate two figures. This just isn’t much of interest for me.

Wish youtube reviewers would stop saying that this design will or might appear in the movie because its not, the 89 Batmobile hasnt changed since it was painted years ago for OnStar! It will appear in the movie exactly how it was then nothing has changed

Let's be real, the batmobile is the most popular thing McFartland has put out period. I was able to fit both the Mattel 80th anniversary DC multiverse batman and the Mattel 03 Robin in the batmobile next to each other so it can fit 2 6 inch scale figures if you want it to.
